A Perfect Remedy for a Hard Day – Laughter (Pretty Darn Funny Episode #2)

August 27, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

You know those days that are just plain hard and you wish you could either start over or just get through the day faster.  That’s how Sunday was.  I felt like I was failing at everything I was trying to accomplish.  My kids didn’t want to get ready for church.   My boys kept fighting or pestering each other.  I was trying to pack to leave right after church to go on a vacation, but no one was wanting to help.  My husband was at a ward conference and then had to leave to travel to the place he needed to be to start work.  The kids were SO hard a church.  I gave my lesson in YW’s, and it didn’t go as well as I had planned.  In fact I almost wanted to walk out half way through, it was that frustrating.  I just felt stressed and overwhelmed.

Oh and to top it all off, on my drive up to visit family I was talking with my mom on the phone, and although I had my speed set on cruise control, I was telling her a story I was stressed out about and realized I had my foot on the gas and that I was going at least 10 over.  I hurried and slowed right as I saw a cop who gave me a $90 ticket.  That was like the straw that broke the camels back.  I was so glad to get to my moms with my five kids and just relax and eat a yummy dinner and visit family!

That night Deseret Book had emailed me this new episode of Pretty Darn Funny to watch and it gave me a good laugh and helped me remember that things don’t always work out, but to have a good attitude about life even if things aren’t perfect.

You have just got to watch it, it’s pretty funny! (darn funny hehe)
Things got better and we are having a great time visiting family now.  Our last vacation before we really have to get home and get back to school!  Yeah!!  Hope you guys are having a fun rest of the summer.

I can relate to this one because it has happened to me more than once. I hate the ticket part of it. I am afraid I would have been in tears as the office wrote out the ticket. I am glad you have had a moment to just relax and enjoy some family time. It is good to find humor in it all.
Blessings and thanks for the video too.
