I wish I could get into Fantasy Fiction, but I struggle getting past the first couple pages!  I can listen to them in the car, but still, I wonder off in my brain and can’t figure out what is going on after not listening for 10 minutes.  I have a goal to read one by the end of the year and the 1st book in this Mysteries of Cove series is going to be the book.  My kids and my husband have loved this series and I need to give it a shot!  Today my husband has written his thoughts on the book for our review!!

Husbands Review of Mysteries of Cove, Book 3: Embers of Destruction:

If you have enjoyed reading the previous books in the series, Mysteries of Cove, you will not be disappointed in number 3. Some series loose a little quality as they progress but this is not one of them. I was kept intrigued throughout the read and enjoyed the new characters as well as the old. Plucky shows a little more personality and I find I really liked her personality from the start. If I had to give one negative comment it would be I think the last chapter wrapped up the ending a little too swift. There could have easily been another 2 chapters and I would have enjoyed reading a little more detail at the end. But all in all I really liked the book!

If you haven’t read this series I would recommend starting with the first book!

Synopsis of Mysteries of Cove, Book 3: Embers of Destruction:

It’s time to take the battle to the dragons.

In the third and final volume of the bestselling Mysteries of Cove series, Trenton and Kallista–along with their friends, Plucky, Simoni, Angus, and Clyde–fly their mechanical dragons south toward San Francisco, looking to rescue any survivors from the battle of Seattle.

Arriving in San Francisco and investigating the area in secret, the young riders are reunited with Kallista’s father, Leo Babbage, who reveals that the humans in the city are working as slaves to the dragons, but that they don’t want to be rescued–himself included. He says they are being protected by their new master: a huge, powerful white dragon who lives in an impenetrable tower fortress overlooking the city. Kallista is stunned by the news. Why would her father ever willingly want to work for dragons?

Trenton and his friends are confronted by the guards and their mechanical dragons are seized. Evading capture, the young riders escape and begin looking for a way to break the white dragon’s hold over the city–and over Leo.
