Back in the day when I didn’t listen to Old McDonald and Dr. Jean Silly Songs, I used to be a huge country music fan! I still am when I get a chance to listen to it! I’m excited to introduce to you this great new country singer HERE of the Pete Scobell Band! A celebrated Navy SEAL, gone country. His voice is classic and anyone who is a country music fan will love his voice and his songs!
Pete Scobell didn’t just wake up one morning and decide he wanted to go to Nashville and become a country music star! It took some great life experiences to realize that this was a great direction for him and a guiding hand to help him find his way. As a baby his mother passed away, music was her passion, and because of her music became something he loved as a way to stay connected with her. As Pete has traveled the world his only consistent companion has been his guitar and his music. “The irony was I was always playing music, then when I ended up in the hospital for traumatic brain injury, they have music therapy. They said, ‘Do you play music? That’s the best thing you can do to help your brain.’ I thought it was cool that my passion for music met up with my rehabilitation, and it was more than just a passion at that point. It was something that I needed to do. So, I went out skiing – that was one of my other passions. I was skiing in a competition, I hit my head again and I’m back in the hole. So I picked up my guitar again and focused on playing and writing. And it became very clear to me: For some reason, God keeps putting this thing back in my hands.”
A guiding hand intervened again when Scobell met Wynonna Judd and Cactus Moser through the makers of the film “The Hornet’s Nest,” a 2014 Afghanistan war documentary. They invited him to record his song “For the One’s I Stand Beside” to appear in the movie. Shortly after, while on the Patriot Tour and with the help of Taya Kyle, he came up with the idea to record “Hearts I Leave Behind,” featuring Wynonna, to honor a former teammate, “American Sniper” Chris Kyle. These two songs helped him into the music business, and I hope he is gong to stay for good!
Today, September 11th, 2015, he releases his first 12-track album Walkin A Wire. A dream he never knew would happen. What a great day for this CD to come out. I can still remember where I was on September 11th. It was a scary and terrifying day for all here in America. It’s a day we remember losing so many people, praying for families of those who lost loved ones and wondering what in the world was going to happen to our country. While we remember so many that lost their lives that day, today we can remember the sacrifice by those who are in the armed forces. The songs on this album by the Pete Scobell Band are perfect to be released today. They talk about loss, life after being in the service, and supporting our veterans.
One thing I love about his songs is that they are from the heart and really help you to remember to focus on what’s important. It’s so easy now a days to get caught up in life’s daily routine, Scobell’s album and story will remind you to count your blessings and keep what’s truly important close to your heart.

Definitely inspiring story! I’m pretty dang impressed he was a Navy Seal, I know that takes a lot and that few people can actually reach that point.
