I can’t even tell you how much my daughter likes the American Girl Dolls. She started her love for them when we would check out books at the library about Kirstin and the other dolls, and read them together at night We got the catalog sent to us for free and then her love for them grew more and more.
I remember being a kid and reading all the Kirstin books, but didn’t even know they had dolls that were like the girls in the book. {I guess my mom kept that a secret from me so I wouldn’t beg for them.} A few years ago we bought a Generation Doll from target for $35 for her for Christmas and about an hour after pulling her out of the box her hair was a mess and completely knotted up. We finally bought her an American Girl Doll a couple Christmases ago. Parents spend ridiculous amounts of money on computer games and other electronics we figured this doll would be loved forever and never go “out” of style. And she has totally been loved. And I love her hair! We decided on Julie who, except for the brown eyes, looks a lot like my daughter. I told my Lala that I don’t think we will buy her another one, but that we could make American Girl Paper Dolls out of the dolls in the magazine. So we got out the cataloge…
Cut the dolls out that stand alone. Then start laminating them…{I used my awesome $20 dollar Purple Cow Laminator I got from Costco}
