My next goal for this year is to…
Learn a New Skill
I thought long and hard about this one. I started thinking about learning to Road Bike, or Run a Marathon, Horse Riding, or Rock Climbing, or Skateboarding {ok not really, but that would be fun), but then I looked down at my ever growing belly and had to rethink some of these things! Probably none of these are conducive to pregnant women, and even nursing moms. Maybe next year. I really would like to ride a horse or get a road bike, but this year is probably not the time to do it!
So I decided to go with something I already love, which is cooking, and adding it to something I don’t know very much about, which is Food Storage. I was looking through our Community Education and Recreation book that I got in the mail and found the perfect class for it titled…
Cooking: Home Storage in Daily Menu – Level 1
Class Description: Set up a Whole Foods Kitchen System to actually use your home storage in your daily menu. We will walk you through this process. By the end of this class you will take home a 3-month supply of dry mixes that only require water to make waffles, pasta, pizza crust, bread dough, French Toast, scrambled eggs, cup of soup, spaghetti sauce, chili, mac n cheese and much more. Plan your food storage with exact precision knowing what recipes you will serve and how much of each ingredient you will use. Learn where to find protein when there is no meat available during a food shortage.
It is a once a week class for one month at nights for 2 hours. I was just telling my husband that I wish I could take college classes without having to worry about the grade. I miss school and learning for myself, so I am really excited to take it and hope that I learn a lot. Food Storage is overwhelming, but I think this will help me not feel so overwhelmed and get me excited to actually increase our food storage!
Oh and if anyone that lives by me wants to take the class let me know, it’s really a good price and you get a lot!
As for something I a grateful for that I learned last year…
How much I love Discount Tires Warranty Certificate
I know this is kind of silly, but I must redeem myself. I always used to get frustrated when my husband would come home after getting new tires with the receipt that said he added a Warranty Certificate for an extra $10 dollars. Well all I can say after the last year getting 3 flat tires, I am SO grateful for Discount Tires Warranty Certificate that he purchased. It has saved us hundreds of dollars! Just recently, as in yesterday we got a new tire on our car because on New Years Eve when we were driving home we got a flat.
