I’m excited to have Alyssa guest posting on the blog today talking about some fun and creative Valentine’s Day Treats you can make for anyone! Take it away Alyssa!
Cupid is making his rounds right now and though there is a lot of one on one focus, this is also a holiday where you can celebrate love of all kinds – friends, coworkers, and classmates. These occasions will call for treats that can be shared with many people. Whatever the reason, consider some of these suggestions as you prepare Valentine’s treats to share with your favorite people.
-
Heart Shaped Chocolate Dipped Strawberries: These classic Valentine’s treats become just a little cuter when you cut them in half, use toothpicks to help the two halves form a heart and then dip them in the chocolate.
-
Fruit and Brownie Kabobs: For those wanting a mix of healthy and indulgent, skewer cubes of brownie bites and different fruits. You can even cut them into hearts for added flare.
-
Frozen Raspberry Mousse Tart with Chocolate Crust: You can either buy a premade crust or make your own. Then whip up a raspberry mousse, pour, and refrigerate. Make sure you put some fresh raspberries on top!
-
Pomegranate Seed Ice Cubes: Spice up your Valentine’s water with ice cubes with pomegranate seeds frozen into them. A simple and healthy way to add a little red to the celebration.
-
Homemade Granola Bars: These can easily be made healthier and even made into protein bars, or you can put a few more chocolate chips and treats in it to make it a fun treat.
-
Chocolate Dipped Fruit Pops: Chop up your favorite fruit, put a straw or stick in it and dip it in your chocolate of choice. Add some pink and red sprinkles. These are easy to share with a group.
-
Pretzel, Cookie Dough Bites Dipped in Chocolate: Sandwich some eggless cookie dough between two pretzels and then dip the ensemble in chocolate. Everything is better dipped in chocolate!
-
Cookie Mix in a Jar: If you are looking for a treat to give to friends they can bake at home and enjoy with their Valentine, a cookie mix in a jar is perfect! Follow the directions listed here and look for ingredients and packaging in colors that will reflect the Valentine’s season.
-
Toffee Chocolate Chip Cheeseball: A mixture of cream cheese, powdered sugar, brown sugar, your favorite chocolate chips and a mashed up Heath bar. Top with festive sprinkles! Bring this out at your Valentine’s get together for a great topping to crackers or pretzels.
-
Cupid’s Puppy Chow: Add a little Valentine’s flare to your usual puppy chow/muddy buddies recipe with Valentine’s special edition M&Ms, and red, pink, and white sprinkles.
-
Sugar Cookies: If you need a treat as well as an activity, get some heart shaped sugar cookies, along with all the sprinkles, chocolates, gummies, and red and pink frosting you need for your friends to decorate their own cookies.
-
Red Velvet Anything: Whether it is cupcakes, cookies, cake or donuts, red velvet comes ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day by its very nature. Choose your favorite treat and make a red velvet variety!
-
Cookie Pizza: Make a large cookie out of your favorite flavor, spread cream cheese frosting and then top using only red, white, or pink fruits and treats to decorate it for a cupid approved “pizza” treat.
-
Valentine’s Rice Krispy Treats: These treats are always a crowd favorite, so make a batch and cut them up into fun shapes like hearts, arrows, and cherubs, if you are feeling extra adventurous.
-
Strawberry Cocoa: Melt down chocolate chips and use it to line the tops of mugs, allowing the chocolate to harden. Then create your own homemade cocoa to top off with strawberry ice cream.
-
Make Your Own Parfait: Looking for something a little healthier? Provide the yogurt, berries (you can stick to strawberries, raspberries, and cherries if you want it to be Valentine’s colors), along with granola and nuts for a group to make their own parfaits.
-
Chocolate Dipped Pretzels: Yes, more chocolate dipping! Dip pretzels in white chocolate (or food colored white chocolate) and add fun, Valentine’s sprinkles.
-
Chocolate Kiss Cookies: These are perfect for this holiday! You can make these out of any cookie recipe. While the cookies are still a little warm, press a chocolate kiss into the center and allow them to cool together.
-
Valentine’s Jello: Especially if you are make treats for kids, they will love a bowl of pink or red jello. Don’t forget the whipped cream and the cherry on top!
-
Homemade Oreos: Put a great Valentine’s spin on this treat by making your own oreos with chocolate cookies and pink filling.
Perhaps your child has a party at school and needs a treat to contribute, you are hosting a “Lonely Hearts” party, or you want to show your coworkers how much they mean to you. No matter the reason, treats you can share with those closest to you are a great way to spread some Valentine’s Day cheer.
