I can’t believe I forgot to tell you about LaLa’s 9th birthday. Possibly because it was a hard birthday for me to deal with. I seriously cried one night for an hour thinking that she had lived half her life with us already. (half of her at home life!) She is growing up WAY to fast, and I really don’t like the idea of her ever leaving this household :).
She wanted to have a movie night with her friends. I was excited to find this template on Smilebox. for the invitations.
In the morning for her birthday we made “Monkey Bread” and fruit shakes. YUMMY!
When friends came we had hot dogs, chips and carrots and drinks.
Then we opened presents, and did cake. For the cake I made White Chocolate popcorn. All you do is buy Almond Bark melt it for 30 seconds a few times and pour over popcorn. SO yummy! The cake was fun to make and the party turned out really really fun. Each girl got their own bag of popcorn (regular) and a box of candy. They watched the new American Girl doll movie and after all decided they wanted to take gymnastics!! It is a really cute show!
This was the easiest party I have thrown. All the girls were very well behaved, and they had so much fun. Maybe that will be the nice thing about her getting older. Low key parties and not a ton of games and extra stuff, I guess I will take that! (although I told her she couldn’t turn 10)!

I must say that sounds like an awesome birhtday party. I had 3 girls that are about 1/1/2 years apart and I enjoy their pre-teen and teenages years fo much. They were so fun. Now I enjoy a very special relationship with them as adults and mothers. Just keep on enjoy ing those sweet moments with her.
Blessings!

Wow! You cried for an hour! 😮 (Sounds like something I have probably done – when mine were YOUNGER. When they get close to leaving the nest you begin to look forward to it. 😉
Oh, and Wow Again! Great party! And totally awesome cake! 😀 You really do rock at motherhood and making childhood fun! 😀
