“We’ve Been Elfed!” Free Printable- Door Signs and Instructions – Guest Post by Tips from a Typical Mom

December 2, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

I am so excited to have Annette here guest posting for me today.  She is so creative!  I know you are going to love her post.  Take it away Annette…

Hi!  I’m Annette over at Tips From a Typical Mom.  I’m so excited to be here guest posting for Kendra at Things I Love.  I thought it would be fun to share a neighborhood tradition that you can start.  I made a fun printable for you to use and everything!

If you love “Booing” at Halloween, then you’ll love this idea I found (I don’t even remember where I saw it first) here or here.  But I thought it was such a cute idea to carry on the tradition for Christmas!  This is when we really need to be thinking of others anyway, right!?

I made this printable to match my Christmas Bucket List found HERE.

And this matches my Handmade With Love gift tags too.  You can get these HERE.

I know that a lot of people like to do neighbor gifts, but this is extra special because it’s done in secret, and the kids love to ring the doorbell and run away.  They feel like little elves themselves.

So what you do is:
1. Download the printable HERE
2. Print 2 Copies
3. Make a special treat for 2 people (maybe pick someone that needs some extra love, this is a great way talk to your kids about thinking of others instead of themselves)
4. Head out and leave the note with the treat on your unsuspecting recipient!
5. And above all, have fun!

I hope you enjoy these as much as I will, and be sure to visit my blog, Tips From a Typical Mom for a lot more printables, recipes and parenting ideas.  Merry Christmas!
