How many of you saw this awesome commercial over the the Super Bowl. I didn’t even watch the Super Bowl, but I saw this all over Facebook!
So inspiring! What an amazing athlete. As most of you know being a mom is also going to incredible length for the betterment of your child. By now I am sure you have all seen this commercial featuring derrick Coleman, the first NFL deaf offensive player and the Seattle Seahawks’ starting fullback and special teams player.
What you may not know is the inspiring story of how his family helped to get him to where he is today. Watch this video and see what this awesome mama did to help her son achieve his dream!
I was so excited to be able to get to interview Derrick’s mother, May Hamlin, who wanted to share some of that experience with me and my readers!! Unfortunately, I had something come up, so I had to send my question in and have them ask them for me :(. Oh well. She is still talking to me and they are my questions!
I am so inspired by her. I love that she mentioned “with God’s help”. I feel like we can’t do anything in this life without God’s help! I believe that God has a purpose for children and that he wants us to achieve the things that are important to us. We need to help our children trust the power with in and work hard to active their dreams. For my kids their dreams are small right now such as, scout awards, drawing a picture, and scoring a goal in a soccer game. With His help and those around us rooting us on, we can do hard things! Derricks story has inspired me and so many others! What a wonderful role model and example for children trying to achieve their dreams!
