Fun Advent / Countdown to Christmas Ideas

December 1, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

Do you have an advent, or countdown to Christmas for your kids?  Here are a few ideas.  This one is super easy, and it’s not to late!!  I have posted my 25 days of Christmas Scripture chain for the last two years, but this year I decided to do something different with it.  We had a church activity this last week and made these really cute Muffin Tin advent calendars.  We got the printables from Flip Chick Design on Etsy.  We laminated each circle and put a magnet on the top and bottom edge.  They hold really well and were super easy to make.

I used to buy my kids those dollar store chocolate ones, but I LOVE these because I can use them over and over.   I can also decide what I want to put in them, candy, 25 Days of Christmas Fun ideas, or  a Service to do each day. This year I did buy a treat to put in each of them, but with four kids the chocolates didn’t fit that I bought.  So I decided to put the Scriptures in them along with a clue as to where to find their treat.  My kids LOVE scavenger hunts so this will be fun!!

*Day 25 is Christmas day and doesn’t actually have a print out on the main pages.  If you want one, right click on the picture with the tree.  It is the one in the middle that says December 25th.  Or you can make something cute for the top of the chain that says CHRISTMAS DAY!  It’s totally up to you!

I made up some of these, but found most of them from random sites online.  I just cut them out and glued them on the back of each scripture.

At night we also read a Christmas Book and the 25 Days of Christ Ornament set.  It might seem like a lot, but it is really easy to put together!
