Christmas Gift Idea #1 for the Whole Family – Just Dance Kids 2014

December 2, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

I wanted to share some ideas of fun gifts you could get your kids this year.    First off…..Just Dance Kids 2014.  This one is perfect for the whole family.

We had the great idea of buying a Wii a few years ago.  I was pretty nervous that my kids would want to stay inside all day long and play it, but I am happy to say they don’t play it that much, and when they do it’s usually all together and when their dad is home.  Family bonding time!!  My 5 year old is a little more obsessed with it than the others, but he is pretty good at keeping to his time limit.

I am pretty picky when it comes to the games my kids play though.  One of the reasons we went with the Wii was because of the fun interactive games that kept them moving.  I haven’t bought into any of the Just Dance games because they seem a little to mature for my kids.  When I heard about Just Dance Kids 2014 I knew it was something they would like. It would get them moving and give them something to do while being inside this winter when it’s too cold to go outside.

Ubisoft sent us a game to review and we were not disappointed. It has fun songs for everyone!  From song like Mary Had a little Lamb for my 2 year old to One Thing by One Direction for my daughter.  I was all about Walking on Sunshine and Footloose!  I don’t know a lot of the popular songs these days, but the lyrics are kid friendly from what I heard.  We hopped on their Facebook page when I first heard about it and saw this video.

After seeing this I knew my kids would LOVE it.  Especially my 5 year old who has got his daddy’s dance moves!

This is what the site says about the game…

With an all-new tracklist of kids’ favorite songs, featuring brand new dances made with kids in mind, and exclusive kid-friendly features, children of all ages can Just Dance along with the rest of the family!
Exclusive fun features per console!
For Wii U – With Dance Director Mode one player acts as the leader and uses the Wii U GamePad to send the other players fun and surprising dance suggestions in the middle of songs! Kids can show off their unique moves and get awarded points by the Dance Director. Parties will never be the same again!
For Kinect – With Just Create mode, kids can take the lead in their very own music video! They’ll be able to create their own dance routines and challenge friends! Now you’re the star!

Some of our favorite things about Just Dance Kids 2014 are…

  • The songs are fun.
  • The dancing is fun and totally appropriate for all ages.
  • The kids on the screen are nicely dressed and don’t look trashy.
  • It is perfect for children of all ages.
  • It’s a great game for the whole family to play together.

And my kids had a lot of fun playing and dancing together to “the monster song” as you can tell from this picture…

This game would be perfect addition to your other games and the kids will love it!  You can buy it at Amazon.com, Gamestop.com, or Target.com.
