Bugs, Bugs Drive Me Crazy!!

November 8, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

This post brought to you by The Orkin Ecologist. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you like bugs?  My kids do…I don’t!  Those creepy, crawly, nasty little creature.  I do know that every creature has it’s place on the earth, whether to harm people or property, or help the environment thrive.  But I really really don’t like most bugs!

Let me tell you a little story….I used to live in a little colder climate.  The only kind of critters we had crawlings in our house was spiders and ants.  Then I moved to the desert.  Yah, I had no clue what I was in for.  We had just settled into our little house and one night I came walking into the kitchen.  It was dark, and I was putting something in the sink when I saw a nasty little cockroach crawl out!!  I screamed, and probably woke up my whole family.  I have gotten used to them a little more now, but do not like them in my house.  I feel like they are intruders, and feel a little violated when I see them in my house!  After making sure my husband got the pest control guys there the next day, I didn’t see a lot of them in my house after that, but I would see them out side and hated them just as much!  After reading this article called top 10 bug phobias, I found out that I have Katsaridaphobia ..Fear of Cockroaches.  And I have heard that the ones herer aren’t even that bad.  I am never moving out of the country.

Since moving to our new house we have had a small problem with scorpions.  I know, just writing that gives me the shutters.  A few months ago I was leaning on my bathroom counter putting make up on when I felt like something was watching me….I am not kidding.  I turn around and lo and behold there was a tiny little nasty scorpion about 3 feet away.  I jumped up on the counter and yelled for my husband.  He came and saved the day, and also got the pest control guys to come out and save us from these nasty little guys!

Nasty little thing!

Go check out Orkins new site and read this interesting article about top 10 bug phobias.  I learned all sorts of new kinds of phobias…who am I kidding, I actually have only heard of arachnophobia. But I think I have Entomophobia! Go check it out and see what it is.  Also follow Orkin’s Ecologist site on Facebook and Pinterest.  My boys love studying bugs, so I know they are going to love this new site!

Do you have any #BugOut moments like mine, or what bug phobia do you have?  What is the scariest bug you have ever seen?  I saw a big ol’ Trantula walking in my garden last week…can you beat that?
