Our Family Business and Happy Veterans Day

November 11, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

My kids and husband and I started a little business in our community putting up flags for nine holidays during the year. It has been a great way for our kids to earn money for college/missions/family trips and a little to spend.  It has taught them hard work and dedication.  My seven year old amazed me during the summer when we started the little business.  He was so excited to get started and wanted to go knock doors for hours asking people if they wanted to buy a flag and have us put them up for them on all the holidays.  It’s been fun to teach them respect for the flag, folding the flag and raising it correctly.  The kids get really excited as we drive through town and see the flags out.  It makes our little town looks so patriotic! The Princess of our community all put the flags out on the main road, so it looks really great!

We wake up between 5:45 and 6 to go do flags and then we come home and have cinnamon rolls for breakfast! It has been hard, but the kids have never complained!  It’s so fun to see the flags waiving on our street!

I am so grateful for the many amazing men and women who have served our country in the Armed Forces.  So many great men and women have spent, and still do spend their lives serving our country.  Relatives and friends who I am very grateful for.  And many who have died fighting for our country.   My brother is in the Air Force and I am grateful to him that he is willing to serve our country!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
