A few months ago my cute grandma came down to visit me and we went to Payless and she bought these cute slippers (I have seen teenagers just wearing them a shoes) so maybe they are shoes 🙂 Anyway, she insisted on buying me some, and I absolutely loved them….until about 3 weeks after wearing them. All the soft fuzzy insole stuff started coming up and off and it was also matted down really bad. They got really uncomfortable in my toes and I almost thew them away! I was frustrated because the outside still looked perfect, but they were not comfortable any more.
That is when I decided to Re-Comfort (If that is even a word) my new/old (looking) slippers! It was so easy, and now I love them again!
Here is what I did. I ripped out the old insoles and cleaned up the side of the inside by cutting the fuzzy’s off. Then I traced the old insoles onto a piece of batting and the piece of fabric I was going to use. (next time I will use nicer thicker fabric, but this has done the trick for the time being) I put the pieces in and made sure they fit. I bought Fabric Fusion and glued the pieces in.
I am so excited that I didn’t have to throw them away, and that they don’t look gross anymore. Yeah!!
And if they get uncomfortable again I can do it again.
{I did this about 2 months ago and they are still great!!}

It is so hard to throw comfortable shoes away. I loved your tutorial on re-doing your slipper. What a great idea.
Blessings!
