Last month my son turned eight! I still can’t get over it! Crazy, my little Cowboy is now 8 years old.
His birthday is right after Christmas and I was feeling a little overwhelmed about throwing a big party for him. He told me he wanted to have a Lego party, so I told him to plan what he wanted to do and then I would help him put it all together. (I had thrown my 4 year old a Lego Ninjago party a few years ago that about did me in!)
He came to me and said, “Here is my plan…When they come I want them to play on the hockey table, then we play Legos and have a contest, then we open presents and then we eat cake and then we just play” Well that sounded easy!
The cake was super easy. I looked around online and decided to go simple by just frosting Oreo cookies on top of a regular cake! I only had about 20 minutes to put it together, I was glad it came together well!
The next day my son get baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In the church that I belong to children can be baptized at the age of 8 when the child is able to make that choice for himself. If you want to read more about baptism go here and read. It was a beautiful service, my son said he felt so peaceful and special as he was baptized and confirmed. The spirit was very strong and I felt so grateful for who this sweet young boy is becoming!
Here are some shots I took of him in his new suit for his baptism invitation!
Aren’t they super handsome (and freezing cold!)
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating my amazing son! My kids are growing up too fast! I guess I better just be okay with it because it’s happening!

What a fun idea for a party. Your sweet son looks like a future missionary. I loved the pictures.
Blessings for all! Children do grow up quick so enjoy all the precious moments.
