Oh Breakfast! Every morning my 2 year old comes in my room at 6:30 and says, “I want Brefest Mommy!” I just want to roll over and pretend I didn’t hear him, but that cute face and sweet voice get me, or sometimes my husband, up every time and we get the cute boy “brefest” at 6:30 am. My husband is a cold cereal eater. If it’s not in the house he thinks we are poor. Ha! He honestly asks me how our money is when cereal isn’t in the house. He is a goof! With school starting and being super busy both my husband and I feel so rushed at times to be places or hurry and start school because the kids got up late. This week I came up with some fast and easy breakfast for when we are in a hurry.
5 Quick and Easy On the Go Breakfast Ideas
Homemade Granola Bars – I love making Granola Bars. The sky is the limit to what you can put inside them. These homemade granola bars are easy to make and store. Add a piece of fruit such as a peach or a banana and you are good to go for breakfast! These are great for on the go especially. Head over here to see the recipe and all the different things you can add to it. From raisins, to dried fruit. There are so many options!
Smoothies – One of my favorite breakfasts is a big old green smoothie. It’s fast, you can throw anything in it, and you can drink it down on the run. I am busy at breakfast time and a throw it all in my BlendTec breakfast is perfect for me. I love coming up with all sorts of concoctions. Here is a link to my Cheery Honeydew Smootie that tastes SO yummy.
One of the things I love to do with smoothies is add add chia and greens to it. It adds to the nutrient content in it and I feel good because I got veggies in in the morning.
Quaker® Real Medleys® Yogurt Cups. – I just recently found out about these yogurt cups from Quaker. They are a delicious blend of yogurt and multigrain granola with real fruit and crunchy nuts. I found them at Walmart in the cold or ready to eat cereal section. They had two different kinds, Strawberry Almond, Apple Cinnamon. I also heard they have Raspberry Pecan.
Filled with real ingredients that offer quality and convenience for breakfast, I’ve sneer seen anything like this before, it’s genius! The first shelf-stable mixture of granola, fruit and yogurt – all in a single serve cup! All you have to do is add cold milk and then let it sit for a few minutes. Then enjoy a little Crunchy. Cool. Yum. They are perfect for when you are on the run or just needing a fast breakfast at home! Another things you can do with them is freeze them into popsicles. What kid doesn’t like popsicles for breakfast. I just mixed a few together, poured them into my push pops molds and the kids had a yummy cold and quick breakfast popsicle.
While I think they are satisfying and delicious, you have got to try them out for yourself. If you don’t want to buy these without trying them you can find out the dates here that they will be having a Quaker® Real Medleys® product demo at a supporting Walmart near you. You can also download the Blippar app from your Apple or Android store to scan your package and receive information tutorials on Quaker® Real Medleys® Yogurt Cups.
Peanut Butter Toast and Bananas – This is one I love to make for me when I am in a hurry. It fills me up and tastes good at the same time. I slice the banana on top of the peanut butter and it sticks right on there. It’s filling and delicious!
Fresh Fruit & Boiled Eggs – Boiled eggs are a great source of protein for breakfast. If you boil a whole bunch of eggs at the beginning of the week, all you have to do is crack them, maybe add a little salt and serve!. Serve with yummy fresh fruit and enjoy!
These ideas are fast and simple and kid friendly! Let me know if you try the delicious Quaker® Real Medleys® Yogurt Cups. Check out all these yummy recipes at QuakerLove.com. I’d love to find out which one is your favorite!
