With school coming up I have 2 toddlers to entertain this year. I’m hoping one will still take a nap each day, but he is just now starting to fight them. (Pray for me people!) Lots of people ask me how I homeschool with little kids around. My answer to them is usually something like, I don’t know, I just do! But to be honest, I do have to balance my time with them and sometimes it’s not easy. I have a lot of books, games and toys for them to play with. I rotate through helping each of them. This year with my four year old I am going to help him learn to recognize letters, sounds, numbers and shapes.
Learning with games is one of our favorite things to do in our house. We have so many educational games that the kids love. I was trying to figure out how to teach my kids shapes and this fun game came to mind. It’s like a cake walk, with out the cake and with shapes, plus with these same cards you can play other games!
We started this last week by playing a few of these fun games that teach children shapes. Basic Shapes up to some easy geometric shapes. My little kids thought it was pretty cool to learn Sphere, Cube and Cone. Today I am excited to be sharing this fun game over at My Mommy Style with 4 other game ideas to go with them! My Mommy Style has been doing a really fun Summer Learning Series that has been pretty fun to follow, so head over and read some great post and enjoy this last month, or week for some before school starts!
