Summer is upon us now and one thing I don’t want is my kids asking me to play electronics all day long. Most of my kids are pretty good with it, but I have two boys that if I let them, they would play electronic games all day. Thankfully we have rules in our family for electronic privileges, but still, it’s not easy. During the week the kids each have an amount of time they can either play games or watch a show. I am usually only on my computer in the moorings, and evenings and maybe for an hour in the afternoon working after we are done with school, during the kids quiet time. About a year ago I shut down the internet and Facebook app on my phone because I realized I was waisting time on scrolling through Facebook, when I could have been doing other things. My kids are pretty good about being unplugged, I’ll telly you how they are when they are teenagers, but for right now we don’t have big issues with phones and electronic devices. Sundays we have started to make our Unplug Day, where the kids don’t get to play games, or the wii or watch TV. I am probably the worst on Sunday because when we get home from Church I love to scrapbook, which I do digitally. I try not to blog at all, or look at social media stuff, but I do sit on my duff and scrapbook for about 2 hours while the kids play games with dad. I don’t feel too guilty about it, but have realized that maybe I could be better about unplugging once a week! You’ve all heard of JOLLY TIME Pop Corn! The American Pop Corn Company of Sioux City, Iowa, is an independent and family-owned company that, for more than 100 years, has produced and marketed JOLLY TIME Pop Corn, the first-ever branded popcorn. Here is how we decided to Unplug. Pop. and Connect as a family!
We found a parking lot that was empty after and the kids got their rollerblades and scooter out and we ate popcorn, took goofy pictures and went on a tiny little walk to a pretty view! It was gorgeous! I love spending time with this cute family of mine! We all have so much fun together. So visit JOLLY TIME Pop Corn on Facebook and share your family pledge!
What are you going to do with your family when you Unplug. Pop. and Connect?

I love the picture of your daughter rollerblading and eating popcorn – that is exactly what mine did yesterday. I love that popcorn makes a great snack all the time, not just at the movies.
