How to Make Frozen Cool Whip Truffles made with Chocolate Bars

December 17, 2015 by The Things I Love Most

A few years ago I went to a friend Christmas party and the hostess served these delicious frozen truffles!  I couldn’t get enough of them, they were AMAZING! I had to get the recipe! She gladly gave it to me. When she spouted it off from her head I was shocked!  Just 3 ingredients to make these amazing Frozen Cool Whip Truffles. I was very excited to go home and make them for an upcoming party I had.  They turned out excellent and everyone loved them! Frozen Cool Whip Truffles made with Chocolate BarsWho doesn’t’ love a three ingredient dessert!  This Frozen Cool Whip Truffles are so simple and easy to make.  The only downside is they are hard to take to a party because they need to stay frozen, but if the party is at your house, or somewhere you can keep them in a freezer, they will be perfect!Frozen Cool Whip Truffles made with Chocolate Bars

I had a party at my house last week and I decided I wanted to try the truffles a few different ways.  I have always used Symphony bars, but I decided to try it with a Hershey bar.  They didn’t have king size at my store, so I had to buy 4 regular bars.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tub of Cool Whip
  • 1 King Size Candy Bar

Toppings:

  • Sprinkles
  • Crushed Graham Crackers
  • Crushed Pretzels
  • Coconut
  • Crushed Oreos

Place Candy-bar in glass dish and melt in microwave in 30 second increments until melted.  Once melted you can either add the Cool Whip right away or let it cool off a little and mix it in.  If you add it when it is still warm it will kind of freeze into little pieces in the Cool Whip, if you wait until it is cooler it will melt into it a little more and make it more like chocolate Cool Whip.

Freeze the bowl of Cool Whip for 2-3 hours until frozen.

Once frozen use cookie scoop and make balls and roll in any topping.  My favorite is the crushed pretzel and coconut.

Place in freezer until ready to serve!
