A couple days ago I told you much I loved watching a good Christmas movie, but I will say there’s nothing better than snuggling up on the couch next to the fire with a nice warm blanket, a cup of hot chocolate, and reading a good Christmas book. Too bad I did none of that when I read this book! I don’t even own a fireplace. When it comes to me finding time to read books it’s usually while I’m walking on the treadmill or waiting for a child to get out of one of their practices and I miraculously arrive five minutes early. One day I will sit and read with my hot cocoa and snuggly blanket by the fireplace, but until then I will read as much as I can in between all of the stuff that life throws my way. I just recently received a copy of this adorable book called North for Christmas by Christina Dymock. This is my first book that I have read by her and I can’t wait to read her other books!
This book, North for Christmas, is a fast but fun read. It was one of those books I couldn’t put down, but I had to because I can’t read and drive my daughter to dance, or read while I am grocery shopping! But I did read it in a week which is saying something! This book is a sweet, clean, fun and a little bit romantic book that will put you in the mood for the holidays 🙂 I am always very grateful for books that after I’m done reading them I can hand down to my daughter to read and not have to worry about the content in the book. This book has romance in it but it is very sweet and innocent!
The book is about a girl named Ruby, who’s boyfriend is going to Italy for Christmas, and she wants to go with him, but she doesn’t have the money. Ruby knows her CEO mother really could afford to send her to Europe for Christmas. But instead Ruby’s stuck in Tennessee working as a Christmas elf so she can pay for the trip herself. Wrangling whiny kids at the mall certainly isn’t the holiday she had in mind. But things start to get interesting when Ruby meets North—a lawyer-turned-elf, who might be able to grant Ruby’s real Christmas wish.
