Last week I shared all about our Southern California adventure to San Diego that we just got back from. I still wish we were there, walking the beach, staying at our wonderful hotel and enjoying our days. Not a care in the world except for spending precious time with my husband and kids! I can’t wait for our next family vacation. I’m planning it already! I already know that where ever we go we are going to be staying in a Homewood Suites, especially if we go back to San Diego! Two years ago we went to Legoland and stayed at the Carlsbad Homewood Suites. We had never stayed in the Hilton before but we got a good deal through Get Away Today with our Legoland tickets. When we made the decision to go to Sea World I got online and looked up right away if there was a Homewood Suites where we were going. I was excited to find that there was one in San Diego. The one we chose to stay at was the Homewood Suites by Hilton Liberty Station! Our last stay at the Carlsbad Homewood Suites was so wonderful that I knew we would not be disappointed in staying in another one somewhere else. The hotels are owned by Hilton and I can’t say enough about how much we like them!
Homewood Suites San Diego – A Perfect Family Friendly Hotel
The thing I love the most about Homewood Suites, and especially the one in San Diego, is that they are very family friendly. We have a large family, and never received one look of annoyance. The staff was so kind and always attentive to our needs. One great thing about the hotels is they have a lot of different sized suites. Last time we stayed in a one bedroom suite with two queen size beds and a couch pullout bed. This time we decided to get the two room suite with one king size bed, one queen size bed, a full kitchen and a couch bed. With a family of 7 it was a great amount of space for us to not feel like there was no room to walk around, and we could put the little kids to bed and stay up and watch TV or play games without them waking up!My son said it right when he walked into the hotel when we first got there and with excitement in his voice said, “The name of this place fits perfect because it does make us feel like we are at home!”
Here are our reasons we love the Homewood Suites in San Diego.
- The Complimentary Meals – Let’s just start out by saying how much we loved the food. If you go on weekdays they feed you a hot breakfast and a hot dinner Monday through Thursday. You can save so much money by not having to go out to dinner for all of your meals. The food is really good and there are a lot of options especially for breakfast. Breakfast every morning was fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles and all the stuff to go on them, eggs, hash browns or potatoes, sausage, bacon, bagels, toast, pastries, muffins, orange juice, cereal and milk. My kids were amazed at all of the choices that they got at breakfast time! I told them to eat up because when we went back home it was back to cold cereal or oatmeal for breakfast. For dinner they had something different every night. One night was pizza night, one night was sliders, and they always had soup and salad. My husband’s favorite meal was the pesto pizza on French bread. It was all very delicious.
- The Pool – It’s always so nice to have a pool to jump in at the end of a hot busy day! They have a great hot tub and a good size pool that we went swimming in every evening when we got home from our days adventures. They have towels for you to use so you don’t have to bring your towels from your room or from home.
- Cleanliness -We also loved the cleanliness of our room come especially after we had stayed a couple of days, they always made the room looks so nice and clean.
- The Kitchen in our Hotel Room – We loved having a full kitchen so that we could go to the store and get everything we needed to for lunch. We didn’t use the stove but if we were there on a weekend it would be nice to use to make dinner.
- The Friendly Staff – The staff was very friendly, The kitchen staff was always great, especially after my son spilled milk on the floor. They quickly cleaned it up and acted like it was no big deal.
- The Fitness Room – My daughter and I enjoyed the fitness room where I worked out one of the days. It was fully equipped with weights, a treadmill, an elliptical, a TV and a yoga ball and matt. It was very clean and nice!
- The Location – Who doesn’t love a beautiful view outside your bedroom window. It was a little overcast during the week we were there, but it was gorgeous! The view was beautiful of the San Diego Bay which was right behind our hotel. The back side of the hotel had a beautiful walking path and park. There was also a bridge that you could walk over the bay.
I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay at the Homewood Suites. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Liberty Station in San Diego is near the airport so my kids were enthralled every time an airplane took off. We had a great stay and have already recommended this hotel to a number of people, and I would for sure recommend it to all of you. If you’re headed to San Diego check out the Homewood Suites. You will not be disappointed.

I’d love to visit SD and I would need a place like this for my son’s food allergies, so we could eat in as much as possible. I appreciate the recommendation!
