Homeschool is the greatest! We are really enjoying it this year. After 7 years of homeschooling you might think I would get sick of it, but I don’t. I feel like I am finally to a point in my homeschool life where I am not stressed and worried that what I am doing is right, or even care what everyone thinks. Homeschooling is becoming a lot more mainstream and not looked at as it once was. I know that it is right, and that it is what my family is supposed to be doing! I think a lot of moms I know think I am crazy, or that it must be really really hard, and you know what…It is. It’s not easy, but I love teaching and being with my kids. The light in their eyes when they learn something cool, or write something that they love is the best. I for sure have my days, as I am sure all homeschool mom’s do, where I have that thought of what it would be like to have all the kids in school, but I honestly wouldn’t trade my days homeschooling my kids. With my daughter being 12 now it’s been nice that if I need to go somewhere after school she can watch the kids for a little bit. My two older kids are also becoming more self governing in their education and I love seeing them excited about learning and coming up with their own projects. I thought today I would share the curriculum I am using for all of my kiddos! We will go from oldest to youngest!

The Family School – For our main subjects such as Science, Geogragraphy, History, Litureature and Art and Music we do Latterday Learning’s The Family School! We have been using it for the past 3 years and are currently on year 4. My kids love it, I love it. It is LDS based education. We use the Notebook Method and 4 R’ing, which is Research, Reason, Relate and Record. I love that my kids learn to apply principles of the gospel to every day subjects. We use the online curriculum which is wonderful and so easy to use. We love adding to our timeline, doing the flashcards, and keeping it all in a nice organized binder! It is so nice to be able to teach all my kids at once. This has by far been our most favorite homeschool curriculum ever!! Homeschool Co-op – We meet once a week with friends at a private school in town. The kids each take two classes taught by the moms, then there is a little PE / Play with friends time at the end. My kids LOVE it, and so do I.
Field Trip Group – We have a field trip group of about 20 moms that trade off planning a field trip in the area. We go on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month.
Teen Group – My oldest daughter is in a fun group of teens that get together and do fun supervised actives twice a month! Mostly for 12-15 year olds! It’s been really good for here to get to know other homeschool teens!

4 YEAR OLD – My daughter does a 30 min preschool for him 4 days a week, I am teaching him to write letters and we do the Writing Road to Reading Phonogram Cards. I read books to him when it’s quiet time. He also loves getting on Starfall.com and ABCYA.com, and playing with the LeapPad.
And with my 2 year old, he just runs around like a crazy kid! I sure love him though!
Are you homeschooling this year? What Homeschool curriculum do you love?

LOVE the quote from pres Hinckley! Do you happen to know when he said it? So comforting to hear another mom say how hard it is but also how much they love it!

So you do still have to add to the Family School Curriculum? It looks like you add a lot? Do you feel like there are holes in the program?
The Things I Love Most says
They don’t have a language arts program so those were some of the books that I did with my kids, but you don’t even really need handwriting because they have worksheets, they also have vocab words, so all you really need is maybe grammar, and to make sure they are doing some writing. Also, they don’t have math. I probably added too much language arts last year because my kids didn’t finish those books! I LOVE The Family School curriculum
