I had the opportunity to review this really awesome Deiss Julienne Peeler from Deiss Kitchenware. this last week and absolutely love it. I haven’t ever bought a good peeler for carrots and to Julienne product. This is going to be so nice for Zucchini noodles that I like to make. I used if for cucumber this last week for my kids and they loved the long strips!
Here a few tips that may be helpful for you when using Deiss Julienne Peeler:
1) Try using a fork to hold your vegetable at one end then use the peeler down the length. Do this three times and then rotate the vegetable 90 degrees. This will help get the most out of the vegetable.
2) Try not to press hard on the peeler while peeling soft vegetables. In turn, firm vegetables are almost never clog the blade.
3) If peeler has clogged, try to clean it under running water. If it did not help (that sometimes happens), then try to use a dish brush, old toothbrush will be perfect too. If you are not in a hurry, you can clean clogged peeler in the dishwasher. It’s dishwasher safe.
4) Cut a thin slice off the bottom of each zucchini so they wouldn’t roll around on the cutting board. Then, place the zucchini flat-side down on the cutting board.
