It’s December 1st, probably my most favorite day of the year because I get to start doing all these fun things with my kids! They were so excited when I handed them their Chocolate Advent Calendars today {and so was I because they were the last 3 on the shelf at the $1 store last night!} and we got to pull off a scripture from our scripture chain! I am excited to focus on Christ this December and really help my kids understand the true meaning of Christmas! I have a lot to teach especially after we read our scripture this morning in Luke and my 3 year old son said “Did Luke Skywalker write that?” Oh Boy! Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful 1st Day of December!
Last year I was able to attend the most amazing Christmas concert at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. It was Phenomenal! It featured the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square and the famous David Archuleta. I remember sitting there wishing I could bottle up all the music and listen to it all year long! Here is a little from that night!
I was excited when I received Glad Christmas Tidings in the mail last week to review! Can I just tell you, it felt almost just like being there {ok minus all the amazing decor and actually seeing all the dancing and stuff that goes on during the concert} I enjoyed just sitting and listening to it. There is also an amazing story on it about how the Tabernacle Choir came to be! This is a great gift or Christmas CD to have around. You can buy it here for $15.18 or enter the giveaway and hope you win!
Deseret Book has offered to Giveaway one CD of Glad Christmas Tiding {Autographed} to one of my readers! There are 4 ways to enter and you can do them all, just leave a comment for each entry!

So hard to choose but one of my favorite Christmas traditions is our birthday party for Jesus on Christmas Eve. We read this story
http://catholiceducation.org/articles/catholic_stories/cs0192.htm
and then let balloons go for Jesus. It’s a great way to remind the kids what we’re REALLY celebrating.

I love reading a Christmas story every day for an “advent” type calendar. We buy a new book every year. We are in the military so if we can, we buy a book that has something to do with where we are stationed. This year its “The Hawaiian Snowman”. 🙂

My favorite Christmas tradition is reading the Christmas story on Christmas Eve and letting the kids open one Christmas present. And Christmas is the one day a year I like to get up early!
I love picking out the Christmas tree-it’s a time growing up that we were always with all the family and now my boys love it too.

Hmm, I don’t know if I have a favorite, and traditions have changed the last few years, but I loved making holiday treats with my mom and driving them around to friends as our family caroled to them.

My favorite Christmas tradition is buying each of my kids a tree ornament that represents something about them from throughout the year. They always look forward to getting them and seeing what I picked and the meaning behind them.
My favorite tradition for Christmas is probably the opening of one gift (pajamas) on Christmas eve and the Christmas program with singing of Hymns. 🙂 I love singing songs with the whole family!

I love Chrstmas traditions…
actually…I love all traditions. One Christmas tradition that is very special to me is….On Christmas Eve Morning! My grandmother has a granddaughters brunch. All my girl cousins gather at grandmas home and we help make crepes and enjoy them together. Then we do the dishes and play some games and visit. We all look forward to this tradition every Christmas Eve Morning!
Ok…now I posted on my blog…

My favorite Christmas Tradition:
Each year since I can remember my family always did some kind of a service project each December, some of which included:
-Serving dinner at the homeless shelter
-Making hats and donating them
-Donating my favorite doll when I was 5
-Doing Sub for Santa for one of my preschool kids
-Choosing names from the “Giving Tree”
We have tried to do something different each year and it has been such a blessing in my life. I hope to continue doing it with my future family!
I am also now following Deseret Book on Facebook!
My favorite Christmas tradition is definately going Christmas tree hunting the Sat after Thanksgiving with my family. It always just seems to bring on the Christmas spirit!
