Weekly Menu Plan – Let’s Hope it works!

February 11, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

I have been STRUGGLING with meal planning lately. Does anyone else have this problem.  I come up with something and then I don’t stick to it.  So then it gets to be 5:00 and I have nothing planned, so I quickly whip something together.  I am sure it is because I have no energy and just wish dinner made itself.  Wouldn’t that be nice?

Speaking of being lazy…I was telling my husband last night I wish there was a machine that I could walk through on my way to bed that would brush my teeth, wash my face, put my pj’s on and tuck me in bed.  This whole bending over thing is killing me.  Seriously 5 more weeks couldn’t come soon enough!!!  I have been having MEGA contractions lately and am seriously so nervous as to when I might go into labor since with the last baby I didn’t even know I was in labor and ended up at the hospital at a 9….ahh so not planned!  All my labors have been so different, the unknown kind of freaks me out. OK, I know I totally just went off on a tangent, Ha!  Sorry.  Back to the reason for this post.

I want to be more organized with meals.  I am a pretty darn organized person, but when it comes to dinner time that is when I struggle the most.  I know with 5 kids I am going to have to be more organized and planned.  So here is what I did….I cleaned off my fridge with family pictures and only have these 2 things on it (oh and my Visiting Teaching List) then I decided that I would only do my shopping on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning (depending on when my husband is home)  I will plan from Sunday-Saturday.  I get my produce box Friday morning so it’s easier to plan after I see what I get out of that.  Then I will plan my meals on Friday after school is done.  I already know what we eat for breakfast and lunch mostly, but it is dinner I need to focus on.  I divided the days up with kinds of meals I will make that day. I laminated both of these and put them on my fridge with a wet erase marker. I will see it all day when I open the fridge and have all the ingredients ready!  Now let’s just pray I actually do this, because I think my kids are sick of salad and pasta for dinner!

If you want to print these off, right click on them and save to your desktop.  I hope they help!

So cute! I hate meal planning and grocery shopping. I have been thinking of doing this too and having set nights with a specific theme to help me think of ideas. I love your printouts!

It’s funny how the little changes help so much sometimes! I write our meals for the week on a dry erase board on the door of the pantry and for some reason it has helped me so much. These are so cute!
