Goals, Goals, Goals…

January 12, 2011 by The Things I Love Most

Are you sick of me talking about goals yet?  Well don’t be because this is my last post for a while about goals.  I just wanted to wrap it up a bit.  My last two goals didn’t really need their own post.
*One is to…

Improve on my meal planning and grocery management skills
I get a lot of great meal planning ideas from this blog.  I love it!! I especially LOVE the plates she sells on her blog.  I bought some a couple of months ago and my kids love putting together their lunch all on their own and try to make it “Helpdy” (healthy) {as Cowboy says}

“Mommy is this Helpdy”?”
I  go shopping every Monday.  I have tried to do it once a month or two times a month, but I always end up needing something so I do a quick trip once a week on Mondays {usually mornings at 7 am if I can get up and going that early}
I plan all of my meals for the week on Saturday or Sunday.  I have a cookbook with all our favorites, but I also like to add new ones a couple of times a month.
Usually after I get produce and my dairy products from Winder Farms then I can plan meals and know what else I need to buy to get though the week.  This year I will also be adding to my food storage by buying something extra for the week.  Then I make my list of what I need and head to my 3 stores.  Costco, Walmart and the Health Food Store.  If I don’t have to take kids it goes by much faster.
In order to make sure I make these meals I have a magnet board by my stove that I put my weekly meal plan on to remind what we are eating each day.  I am not perfect at following it, but it helps me feel way more motivated.  off camera 001 *My last goal is to
Improve on my writing skills

My mom and I have been writing a book for the last couple of years, slowly but surely we will one day be done with this project of ours and I am really excited about it.  I have learned a lot and am excited to see where it goes!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So those are my goals.  We’ll l see how well I do with them.  I know I can’t be perfect at them, but i will try hard every day to accomplish them.  I know that the main way we can accomplish goals is through the help of God.  He cares about our goals big or small and will help us achieve them.
For family night the other night we did our family goals that I talked about in this post.  I put them in a frame and they are up in the living room for us to see everyday.  off camera 002My plan is that every Monday night when we have FHE we will remind the kids of our goals and be reminded to keep working on them.
“When you learn to master the principle of setting a goal, you will then be able to make a great difference in the results you attain in this life.”  Elder Ballard
