Which one of these products from the Covenant Christmas Roundup would you like in under your tree this year?
Godfrey says
Robin PriceI have a question about tinhtig I understand (as told to me by a neighbor who is LDS) that if you do not pay your tithes to the church that you will be deemed unworthy and unable to attend until you pay them current. This seems harsh to me. If you are so poor you can barely afford to live or just don’t have that 10% to give to the church it doesn’t seem right that you will be cast out. I don’t believe that God/Jesus cares about money in that way and certainly would not turn his back on you. What is the church’s reasoning for this one please?
The Things I Love Most says
No, not at all! the church encourages members to pay a 10% tithe but NO ONE will ever be turned away from attending church unless they are purposely striving to “ruin” the meeting and cause chaos among those attending. but i think that is a pretty normal response from any group. don’t you?
