I received this product in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I’m exhausted! I’ve been up the last two nights with sick kids. It started with a low grade fever Monday night and now they are both coughing like crazy. With cold weather coming on, the air getting dryer, and our thermostats being turned up, we knew a humidifier would be a good thing to own. When the kids started to get the cough in the middle of the night my husband and I pulled out the humidifier. I think it has helped a lot. The humidifier we are using is the Luma Comfort HCW10B Cool & Warm Mist Humidifier. We have bought humidifiers and a couple of times in our married life, but haven’t been very impressed with them.
Here are some great benefits of the Luma Comfort Cool & Warm Mist Humidifier.
1. It provides soothing moisture for personal comfort.
2. It also has a built-in hygrometer that offers custom humidity control from 30 to 70% with both cool and warm mist settings.
3. It has an easy to read LED display with a programmable 12 hour timer.
4. It’ has a great looking design that is modern and can fit in with any decor.
5. Its energy efficient and uses ultra sonic technology.
6. It adds moisture to dry environment and naturally eliminates airborne dust particles
7. It cover 538 square feet.
8. It has a demineralization cartridge that prevents lime scale and mineral buildup and to soften hard water
We have really enjoyed having this humidifier. The digital screen makes it simple and easy to use. You can pick cool, or warm. It does take about 5 minutes to heat up. The other really cool thing is you can choose your desired humidity level. The unit will stop adding mist to the air and the fan and automizer will turn off. It will restart once the relative humidity decreases by 5%. If the room humidity level is at 70% it tells you on the screen. I will say it wasn’t the easiest thing to just plug in and use without reading the owner’s manual. Once the owners manual was read it totally made sense and we were able to use it easily! I would totally recommend this humidifier not only for it being a modern design that looks good in a room, but it also does a really good job in what it is designed for.
5 Benefits to Owning a Humidifier
1- Helps your Skin: My skin gets so dry in the winter. THe other day when my hands were super itchy we plugged it in and the next morning they were not
2- Helps you sinuses: Even if you aren’t sick, having a humidifier going when you are sleeping can help clear your sinuses so you can sleep better.
3- Alleviates snoring: The moisture from a humidifier keeps the throat from drying out and relieves the intensity of snoring.
4- Helps You Heal Faster: Whether it be a cold, asthma, or allergies, a humidifier keeps your nasal passages lubricated, which helps speed up the healing process when you’ are sick.
5- Reduces Nose Bleeds: Has you child ever woken in the night in the winter with a nose bleed. One great way to stop this from happening is to use a humidifier in their room. One reason they might be having the nose bleeds is because the dry air in the room.
Cool or Warm, what should I use?
When it comes to humidifiers you can buy cool or warm mist humidifiers. I read a little about whether I should use cool or warm mist because with the Luma Comfort Humidifier you have both options. We decided to always stick with cool. When it comes to warm mist it uses a heating element to raise the temperature in the tank which makes it more expensive to power. It also can be a danger to children and pets. Warm mist humidifiers aren’t advised for homes with children, as they burn risks. Additionally, the heat makes it so the machine is less portable. Warm humidifiers are better in small spaces, as the mist isn’t able to spread very well or efficiently. On the other hand, cool humidifiers disperse vapor very well and can cover a much larger area.
As far as Cool Mist goes I read that they provide a better condition for easing the above problems, as cool mist is easier for the body to inhale than warm mist. Some articles also mentioned that by the time warm mist humidifier reach the person it has already cooled down anyway, so why not save the money and the hassle.
Here is a little video of my handsome hubby telling you more about the Humidifier!
I hope you all have a wonderful winter. I really do love this time of year, but I don’t like the dry air, so I think we will always have this humidifier going!

I had no idea that a humidifier would help alleviate snoring. I have sinus issues, so this is just another reason I should get one of these.

We’ve had one for YEARS and the boys have one in their rooms too. I can not sleep without it. When we change the filter it’s actually no longer loud and doesn;t “work” as well to lull me to sleep. hahah.

I hate when the air is dry in the house and it makes my nose feel all dried out so this time of year i always need my humidifier. The humidifier I have now is old and kind of bulky so I will have to check out a Luma humidifier.
