I LOVE good music! I want my daughter, and all of my children to like good clean music. I cringe when I hear some of the song on the radio and have to quickly change it. I want the singers-songwriters to be good role models to my children who listen to their music. My daughter LOVED Miley Cyrus when she was little. Let’s just say I am glad that obsession is over and she has moved on to other musicians! There is so much great music out there amongst the horrible nasty stuff, but you have to go find it! I was especially excited to receive a copy of this CD by Madilyn Paige to review. I haven’t watched the voice in a while, but I did hear there was a girl from Utah on it a while back. I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to her CD with my kids in the car. The music wasn’t churchy (although I love churchy music). It was fun, upbeat, and had a great message! It eve sounded like what most of the girls in my area are listening to, minus the lame lyrics! After each song my daughter told me what they were about and why she liked them. Her favorite song was “Little Things”.
Description of the CD
This stunning self-titled debut features a set of tunes notable for their raw emotion and beautiful soundscapes. Madilyn wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, drawing from her own struggles as a teenager and her heartfelt expressions of the joy she finds in life. The first track, “Irreplaceable,” begins with aching introspection and soars to an assurance of self-worth; the following track, “Foolish Game,” was written right after Madilyn left the TV show The Voice and gives insight into the inevitability of discouragement in life and the realization that you can rise above the games that people play. An epic movie score string section combines with powerful rhythms on “Undercover,” a breathtaking song about overcoming sadness and seeking the light all around you. The final track, “Little Things,” playfully reminds us that the little things in life are the source of true joy. My kids enjoyed every song. Even my 3 year old liked her voice!

Madilyn Paige is a singer-songwriter from Provo, Utah. As a young child, she lived in Japan. She took up singing after she moved back to the U.S. She loves making music videos and short films with her friends and has performed in various local competitions.
