How to Cook a Delicious Roast Using Your Instant Pot

January 18, 2017 by The Things I Love Most

Hi everyone! If you know me and you know how much I love my Instant Pot pressure cooker!  I bought this about 6 months ago, and once I finaly opened it from the box about 4 weeks after I got it, and decided not to be scared of it, I absolutly fell in love with it, and I use it almost every day!  I thought I would share some of my favorite recipes and how I cook them in the Instant Pot every couple of weeks! Over Christmas time the Instant Pot was on sale for $69. It is normally $129 99, but sometimes they are on sale for $99. So look for a better deal than the original price.  I think they run it on Amazon a couple of times a year so click HERE to see what the price is today!  This is the 6qt and it has been perfect for our needs.  Today I am excited to share with you how I make my Instant Pot Pork Roast! Delicious Instant Pot Pork RoastA friend of mine says she always struggled with making good roasts in her Instant Pot, so today I thought I would share how I do my pork roast in the Instant Pot. If I am in a hurry I usually just throw it in fill the instant pot with water up to the top of the roast and add Lipton Onion Soup mix. I put it in for 90 minutes on manual and let it’s slowly release the pressure after the 90 minutes is up. Today I’m going to share a little bit different recipe that is still super easy and yummy

Delicious Instant Pot Pork Roast

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Onion chopped
  • 2 T Garlic
  • 1 Pork Roast
  • 1 can or 1 3/4 c Beef Broth
  • Salt

Put your Instant Pot on sauté and saute onions and garlic until they are soft. Salt your roast.Delicious Instant Pot Pork RoastTurn your Instant Pot off and then place your roast in with the onions/garlic mixture and pour the beef broth over it. Make sure the knob on top is turned to “sealing”.Delicious Instant Pot Pork RoastOnce the Instant Pot is done and it has slowly released all the pressure, open it and shred all the meat. Delicious Instant Pot Pork Roast

You can use this for so many things.  You can take the meat out and thicken the juice and put it over mashed potatoes and have meat and mashed potatoes and gravy.  You could also use it for pork tacos or enchiladas, or eat it with rice.  You could also cook it for 60 minutes, and then add carrots and potoates to the pot and cook it for another 20-30 minutes.  I buy these roasts at Costco. They come four to a pack and I easily could have fit two in there. You wouldn’t have to cook it longer becuase there is room in there for two small roasts. Delicious Instant Pot Pork RoastEvery week I am going to try to share something new I am cooking in this awesome pot. I’m excited to try Crème Brûlée in it, have any of you done that?  My friend did yogurt and it tasted amazing!!

If you have one, what is your favorite thing to make in it?
