No Gifts for the Kids Under the Tree This Year

December 12, 2016 by The Things I Love Most

Before you all start thinking I am a mean mom let me explain!  For the past 10 years of giving presents to my children I either have to hide them until Christmas Eve or deal with them shaking their presents and guessing what they are.  I got kind of sick of hiding them all of December, but I also hate the shaking.  So last year to avoid this I decided there would be NO gifts for the kids under the tree….only for the Reindeer!

No Gifts for the Kids Under the Tree This Year

No Gifts for the Kids Under the Tree? Only the Reindeer!

It worked!! My kids don’t pick up their gifts now and try to guess what they are.  They just look at the names of the presents and wonder who they are.  I wasn’t sure if the shaking would still happen, but it doesn’t.  They don’t know if it’s for them so they don’t really care to pick it up.  It’s pretty funny listening to them try to guess what name they think they are and why.  I just pick randomly, but they think that their is a system to my silliness!

I am sharing these printables over on my other blog The Mama Birds. So head over there and print them off if you want to join me by having NO gifts for your childen under the tree this year!
