An Easy Recipe for Grandma’s Cherry Pie

December 8, 2015 by The Things I Love Most

I am ready to snuggle down for a long winters nap.  I am one tired mama lately.  I think I finished up all of my Christmas shopping for my children tonight and that feels good!  I like to be done early so I can enjoy this month without stressing about presents all month long.  I am been there where I am trying to buy gifts up until Christmas Eve.  It’s stressful and I don’t ever want to be in that place again.  We had a great Thanksgiving up in Utah County visiting family!  I love the holidays.  I love being with family and spending time together.  For the past 10 years we have loved spending our Thanksgiving holiday at my Grandma’s house.  Whether we are eating dinner with my family or my husbands we always help grandma with the food she has to prepare, and one of those things is ALWAYS Grandma’s Cream Cheese Cherry PieCream Cheese Cherry Pie
Grandma's Pie

This year Grandma had knee surgery a week before Thanksgiving and when we got to her house It hit me that this would be the first year in many that I wouldn’t be cooking with her.  I was so sad.  I went and visited her the night before and we had a good laugh and enjoyed being together.  I told her I was going to make the pie!  We were both sad.  I made it all by myself in the lonely kitchen that next day.  Thankfully, she was able to come to Thanksgiving dinner and got to eat a piece of our pie together! Cooking in the Kitchen with grandma will always be one of my favorite memories that I hold dear! This grandma of my is one of my greatest friends ever!  Grandma's Pie
