After having 5 kids and loving all things baby, especially keeping them healthy, I found this info-graphic very interesting  This graphic was produced by a group called Healthy Child Healthy World, which is a nonprofit group whose mission is to empower parents to take action and protect children from harmful chemicals.  I found it interesting that there have been over 287 different toxic chemicals found in newborn cord blood.  This infographic is a part of their Safer Pregnancy Resources campaign.  To learn more, you can also read their Easy Steps to Safer Pregnancy e-book here and use this interactive resource to learn how to reduce exposure to chemical toxins during pregnancy.

I am usually one to kind of freak out when I read something like this, and part of me wants to get rid of it all right away, but then my family thinks I am going crazy.  The key to it is doing it one step at a time.   Last year I got rid of almost all cleaners in our house.  Small steps make it a whole lot easier.  We are all constantly exposed to so many environmental chemicals, which a mostly beyond our control, so just do the best you can do, and make baby step changes!
