Our Valentines – Happy Valentines Day

February 14, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

I had a lot of plans for Valentines Day, but didn’t get to all of them. {again I blame pregnancy…what else can I blame?}  I wanted to make hearts and put them all over the house, but we didn’t get to that.  I thought about heart attacking my husbands truck at work, but yup you guessed it, I didn’t get to that either.  I did help my daughter make these cute Valentines for her friends…I can’t take credit for the cute printables though.  Yup I planned on making these also, but then I thought WHY?  If they are already out there in the Pinterest world why not get help from others creativity and shorten my time making these.  I got them here and am very grateful for the time saver.  I made these yummy Homemade Peanut Butter cups and put them in baggies and stapled this cute card on and Tada!
 Happy Valentines Day!!

I did get up and make my kids pink heart pancakes and I got them each a present.  During school today I plan on playing some fun games and decorating the cookies I made last night that took so long to make!  But since it’s all about love I just had to because what is Valentines without yummy heart shaped sugar cookies!  I hope you all have a wonderful day.

And for those that homeschool I have a question for you?  How do you make Valentines Day fun even though your kids don’t get 30+ Valentines from kids at school?  Do they feel left out?

We’re pretty low key on Valentine’s day. We do a card exchange/party with our homeschool book club (1-4 other families over the years). My kids spent time making cards in the week leading up to it. At the party we did two simple crafts (paint chip bookmarks and cheerio bird feeders).

We had pizza and ice cream today as a treat with daddy. Some years we buy flowers, but not this year. That’s it!

Oh, how I remember helping children with Valentines and Decorating Sugar Cookies. I don’t do that much anymore. All our children are spread all over except for one son and his family in Heber. My dear husband did take me out for a wonderful dinner.
Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day and evening.
    Blessings!

I’m glad you had a fun day. It sounds similiar to ours. We decorated sugar cookies too. We also do Valentine activities and games. I think the kids still love it whether they are in school or not. (And they don’t come home with too much candy!)

We always had a valentine party. And, we made our valentines that day as well. It was basically a big party day (I don’t actually remember if we even studied… We pretty much took off holidays and birthdays. :o)
