4 Kids….Are You Crazy?

December 5, 2012 by The Things I Love Most

I never thought that having four kids would be looked at as having “A LOT of Kids”  Last year when I was with my husband at the mall, and our baby was just 2 weeks old I walked in a store and one of the workers jaw dropped and she said “WOW you have a lot of kids!”  I looked at them and thought “Really 4 is a lot?”  Huh…Okay. (We thought we were done at 4, but after we had our 4th we had a strong feeling there was another.)  Since then I have encountered it a lot from other people.  Now, when I tell them I am having my 5th, people look at me as if I am crazy.  It’s okay, I probably am, but I really like being a mom to all these kids, as challenging as it is, it is so wonderful!!  It’s funny, because when I was a kid 5-7 kids really wasn’t a lot to me.  My mom had 5 kids, my aunt had 7, my amazing grandma raised 7 by herself after her husband died.
I saw this the other day on facebook and laughed so hard….
I guess it comes from this book here.
Now I have an excuse why I never answer my phone. I posted this on my personal facebook page the other day, and since then spaced a couple (ok maybe more) of things and when I apologize to the people, they said “It’s ok you have 4 kids!” So yeah, now all my friends understand why I never call them back, forget their birthdays, or am always late. It’s because I have 4 kids!!
Also my sister showed me this, and I have watched it with other people since then and I laugh so hard!  I don’t think all of it is true, but it is just funny the worlds perspective on having 4+ kids!

So watch it, it’s Hilarious!

I have a friend the has a bumper sticker that says “Three is for Quitters”  I love it it makes me laugh.  But also, I will say, I don’t think 3 is for quitters.  Having kids at all is challenging, so if you have 1 or 10 (yeah I stop there, after 10 I just don’t get it….haha) it’s what is right for you and your family.  Really it is not for us to judge how many kids someone has, it’s between them and God!

Have a wonderful day!!

I really loved this one. I remember people saying the same things to me when I went somewhere with our 6 children. Having big families isn’t as popular anymore; but I wouldn’t trade my six for anything else. Now at this stage of life; I miss all the fun. Of course, there are a few things I don’t miss.
When I had my 4th baby; the next two didn’t seem to make that much difference. Changing two babies diapers didn’t seem to be a big deal.
Just keep on enjoying the moments with your family; the years go fast.
    Blessings!

I’m about to embark upon the maddness of four, and I can barely manage the three I have! We definitely get some looks here in Germany! The funny thing is though I see people at church and think man they have a lot of kids- but then I count them and realize it’s only four- they just bounce around so much they get double counted (or should count as two 😉
