Conference Fun Bags Updated!

March 26, 2012 by The Things I Love Most

General Conference is coming up this weekend and I am almost done with putting together these fun Conference Fun Bags that I made last October for my kids.  In the past I have just printed off those awesome packets off of Sugardoodle, but my kids struggled staying focused and they got bored.  So I made these last year…

And let me tell you they were the best.  My kids were SO good during conference and my husband and I got to actually sit there and listen to all 4 sessions in peace WITH our children who were also (somewhat) listening!  This year I am basically doing the same thing but I thought I would show you what we are putting in them this year.  Also, I have 3 kids participateing so I make sure I print of 3 of everthing to put in the bag.
The tricky part is I don’t know exactly who is going to speak and when.  We usually hear from all the 12 and the First Presidency, and then a few shorter talks from members of the 70 and others, but, I only make 15 bags and put the pictures of each member of the First Presidency and the 12 apostles.
In the bag with President Monson I usually put their coloring book so that every time he talks they have something more they can do.

So here is what I am going to have in each bag… (click on the blue links and it will take you to the page to print off)
#1 Apostles Missions from the sugardoodle packet
#2 Picture Puzzle found on this blog – I will just use pictures I already have
#3 –  A new coloring book from Seagull Book
#4-   Prophets at their Pulpits from this pack
#5-   Beading – Making bracelets or necklaces
#6-   Puzzle Time – I will just put a slip in it that says puzzles – This year we will be at my moms so it will be fun to get out all the puzzles I did when I was a kid!
#7-  Can you trace the Names of the first Presidency & Write I know the Scriptures are True

#8-  Popcorn – Last conference I got them their own little popcorn holders.  They have been a huge hit in our house this year!
#9-   Legos – see if you can make a church or a temple out of Legos
#10-  Paint With Water or Playdough (I haven’t decided yet)
#11-  Hidden Picture of Kind Benjamin and the one in this kit about President Monson!
#12-  Conference Mazes and Dot to Dots from this kit
#13-  General Conference Word Search
#14- Draw pictures and write a short note to our cousins on missions
#15-  Prophets and Apostles Matching Game

I am excited to be able to listen to conference this weekend.  It will be so much fun to be up at my parents house with a wedding going on for my cousin and then also it’s a big big weekend for me, but I’ll tell you more about that later on in the week.  Have a wonderful Monday!
