Storyland Yoga

February 23, 2011 by The Things I Love Most

A lot of people ask me what I do for PE with my kids.  We do lots of different things from structured activities to hopscotch, hitting and throwing a ball, or just going outside and going on a walk or riding our bikes.  The last couple of months it has been cold and I was very excited when I got Storyland Yoga to review for my kids.  I have never really done yoga, but I have heard it’s really good for you to stretch and become more flexible.  So I thought why not give it a try!

image My kids LOVE it.  It has two different workouts.  One called Condor Trek {23:18} and the other called Save the Whale {18:30} on the same DVD.  It is a fun storytelling adventure where the kids can pretend they are on the beach trying to save a whale, or another story helping the kids use their imagination to save Condor eggs.

Kid’s learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating animals. Yoga is great exercise and helps to calm children giving them greater focus and increased clarity. Storyland Yoga is equally fun for parents and family members who can benefit from yoga.  I even did some of it along with them, until my prego belly got in the way.

My kids even did Storyland Yoga the other night before bed because it wasn’t quite bedtime, but they were bored so they went and got out their "mats" {towels} and did yoga before bed.  They were so cute!

You can read more about Storyland Yoga by going to their site, or you can buy it on their Amazon page here.

We love it and I know you and your kids would also!!
