Making your own All-Purpose Cleaner

July 19, 2010 by The Things I Love Most

 A few month back I decided I didn’t want to clean with strong chemicals.  For one reason they smell so strong they can’t be good for you and also I wanted my kids to help clean and didn’t want them cleaning with anything that could harm them.  So I found a recipe on the pinching your pennies blog page for making your own All-Purpose Cleaner, and tried it, and haven’t gone back. {Ok I still have some Orange Pine sol which I love and use only once a month when the family is gone, but once it is gone, I won’t be buying another one.  This way is so much cheaper.

Here’s a great recipe for making your own kitchen/bathroom cleaner:
(1) Tbsp. Borax
(3) Tbsp. white vinegar
(1) Tbsp. dish soap
(2) cups water
(1) drop essential oil (for fragrance – optional) {I don’t use this}
Empty spray bottle
Mix ingredients and pour into empty spray bottle. Make sure to label.
Happy Cleaning!!

    I admit I’ve wanted to use this recipe for some time but still have so much of the other I haven’t gotten to it. Soon! However, I do the natural laundry soap and love it. Natural is so much better for you and so much cheaper if you stick to the basics. Two hundred years ago they didn’t use Windex. Modern day products are nice but at a cost from our health and pocket book.
