I am now officially a Homeschooling MOM! Yup, I know, crazy huh?!?! But it will be good for our little family!
Yesterday was the LAST day of public school for my little girl. It was actually her second round of Kindergarten. We did it last year at home, but when I decided to put her in public school last year, half day was all I could handle! Plus she would have been THE youngest in first grade since her birthday is just days before the deadline. She completely enjoyed herself, and I didn’t have any problems with it. I am not against public school {obviously} well except watching Scooby Doo like they did on some of the Friday Fun Days! {seriously Scooby Doo? WHY?} Other than that I think they did an Okay job! They didn’t teach them as much as I thought they would but I was impressed with the teacher and thought she did a great job with LaLa. I was grateful for the friends she made. It is always great when you can see your kids picking good friends. She did, but was also kind to everyone, even the mean ones that would spit their tongue out at all the kids!
I have to say I have mixed feeling about Summer starting mostly because this year went by SO fast, and now it has hit me that next year I am going to be the teacher. I have done some supplemental things this whole year, but after this Summer I am it. I am the teacher! I am excited for Summer though, not because we have any huge plans but because it will be a time for me to prepare, to do fun stuff with the kids and not stress.
I am really excited to start teaching Cowboy {age 4}. He will be a preschooler this next year. Just this last week he has become super interested in reading and writing. I think I have focused so much on my daughter trying to get her to read and write that I forgot I had a four year old that was just as interested. He came up to me the other day and told me he wanted to write his name. I gave him a pad of paper that had his name on it and a marker, and guess what…..He did it. It was all over the page, but he did it and he even held his pencil correctly {that’s two kids I haven’t had to teach that to..NICE} Last night he sat in the hall with a notebook, and a pencil next to our alphabet chart and number chart and wrote the whole alphabet along with his numbers. I was so proud of him.
So I am going to just enjoy this summer, and prepare to get ready to school these little munchkins next year. Here goes!! Happy Summer to all of you!

So excited for you to officially join the ranks of homeschooling again. We’ll have to try to do some things together, if we can.

A’s teacher actually called me their last day watching Scooby Doo saying, “She says she isn’t allowed to watch this. Is there something I am missing about Scooby Doo.” I was ready to go into a whole list of things but I just laughed and said we talked with her and it is fine. 🙂 Good luck- and no more Scooby Doo- well for you at least.
