I don’t really have the time in my life to be reading all these books, but I find it during the late night hours of the day when my kids are finally in bed and my husband is snoozing beside me. I’m a pretty quick reader and love cozying up in my bed with a good book! During the day is when I read my harder, more in depth books, but at night I get to just relax and read these fun books! I haven’t really meant to become a book blogger as much as I have been, but I guess I am and about once a week I will be sharing with you some of my favorite books. They one I received from Covenant, For Sale by Owner by Marlene Bateman is a wonderful book!
Book Summary: McKenzie Forsberg is headed home. She’s quit her big-city job to return to her roots in the small town of Lake Forest. Kenzi hopes to buy her childhood home from her brother, Tom, as a way of revisiting the peace and security she’s been missing in her life. But soon she is shocked to discover that the house has a pending sale, and Tom won’t budge from the sale—not even for his sister.
Handsome widower Jared Rawlins catches Kenzie’s eye until she realizes that he’s the one who is buying her house—but he can only close the deal if he sells his own house by Christmas Eve. Jared is more than a little interested in Kenzie but has second thoughts when it seems that she may be sabotaging the sale of his home.
Slippery feelings of animosity and distrust ensue, with both Jared and Kenzie denying the chemistry between them. My Review: I love the Hallmark channel and I’m pretty sure I have seen a movie like this book! You will love this sweet, fun story about Kenzie and Jared. I love books set during the Christmas holiday. I think it makes them a little more romantic! I love the banter between the two main characters that goes on! The book has some recipes in the back that look delicious! It is a cute clean book that is a fast fun read for anyone!!
About the Author: I have always loved to write. I started writing stories in elementary school and with the acclaim of doting parents, continued. I was blessed with a supportive teacher in junior high school, who encouraged me, so I kept on writing. My dream of writing was put aside for a time when I married and had children, which kept me very busy. As the babies got older, I managed to carve out a little time, and began writing for magazines and newspapers.
Then I began working full-time after opening my own floral shop. After nine years, a health scare convinced me to sell my shop and pursue my dream of writing full time. Many thanks to a husband who was willing to support me in my writing habit. I work very hard on my writing, for many reasons. First of all, it is simply what I do. I can’t imagine not writing. With my non-fiction, I want to inspire people and build their faith and testimonies. With my novels, I want people who ready my books to be entertained and not have to worry about questionable scenes, swearing or things like that. As an LDS author, I feel a great responsible to write clean, uplifting novels that carry good, underlying messages, which will enlighten and inspire and help people cope with real life.
