We Love the LeapPad Platinum & Imagicard

I received a LeapPad Platinum in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% mine!

I’m not a huge electronic fan when it comes to kids. I think they need to use their imagination and play more these days instead of sit and stare at devices. But there is one device I allow my kids to have and they love it! LeapPads! All I can say is LeapPad never disappoints. They are one kids electronic company that I actually love and let my kids play. LeapPad just recently came to with the new LeapPad Platinum…or as my 4 year old says the new “Pwatnum”! Every time I get a new LeapPad product I think to myself, this is so amazing there is no way they can make anything better….but every year they come out with something bigger and better!

The New LeapPad Platinum is just a step up from the LeapPad Ultra. This device is even more heavy duty than the last. It’s their most durable LeapPad ever with a shatter-safe screen and a wrap-around bumper. LeapPad Platinum has been thoroughly drop-tested, impact-tested and compression-tested in LeapFrog’s Quality Lab for durability and child safety.

It features a 7” hi-res multi-touch capacitive screen and fast processor. Recommned for ages 3-9, but like I have mentioned before my 11 year old daughter likes to play it also. Access our learning library of 1,000+ games and more, all designed or approved by LeapFrog educators* and featuring Just For Me Learning Technology. Games draw from 10 ways to personalize, from remembering curricular progress – a LeapFrog exclusive – to automatically adjusting learning levels.

Features I love about the LeapPad Platinum….

I love that the device is all about education and helping your kids learn. It also works with your child’s learning level.
You can set a time limit on the Platinum and it will tell the child it is time to be done, and then it won’t let them use it for a certain amount of time after it has been used.
I love that you don’t have to log into your account on a computer and hook it up to you main desktop to activate games. You can login through the parents center directly from the LeapPad Platinum.
You can download the games that you have downloaded to your other device to this device so that you don’t have to buy the same game again if you already purchased it for one device.
You can play interactively with a friend who has another LeapPad device and have your pets play together.
I love the Kid-Safe Web! LeapPad Platinum features Wi-Fi with a kid-safe web browser that lets kids explore content they love, but that is totally harmless. When I first heard about the web option it stressed me out a bit, but he kids can’t just go search online. With LeapSearch, kids can browse age-appropriate content, handpicked by our team of learning experts and features parental settings for easy fine-tuning by you. For the most part it’s all educational and learning features.
When you buy the LeapPad Platinum it comes with 6 Imagicards for more interaction and game play fun.

Which brings me to my next reason I love the LeapPad Platinum. Imagicards! These things are awesome, and the kids honestly think they are like “magic”!! LeapFrog Imagicard is a first of its kind digital and physical learning experience for kids that brings characters and more to life with the snap of a picture from one of 30+ curricular cards included. Digital learning games are enhanced by physical interactive cards that extend the play beyond traditional tablet gaming.

With LeapFrog Imagicard, children use the camera to capture photos of the cards to bring a favorite character into the game and unlock the magical gameplay. In addition to the downloadable digital game and interactive cards, LeapFrog Imagicard comes with a branded tin for easy storage, and a play mat for card sorting and offline learning activities. Since we don’t have all the cards I love that all 30+ cards are also digitally included in the game, so children can still play the full games while on‐the‐go. My Kids loved playing with this new device. I love that I can set at time limit and they realize that instead of me nagging them to turn it of, it just tell them their time it up! It is a perfect device for kids between the ages of 3-9 and is so much fun!!
