A couple weeks ago I was up in Salt Lake City for the Build Your Blog Conference! When I first started blogging I never thought about going to blog conference. I just liked blogging, but didn’t think I needed to go learn more about blogging. Boy Howdy was I wrong, and how I wish I would have gone to one when I first started!! I will save it for another post, but I learned SO much and I am so glad I went!
Anyway, let’s talk about Lamb’s Grill! A bunch of Utah Bloggers were able to go here for dinner one night, curtesy of the great people at Lamb’s Grill. It was a lot of fun meeting up with some amazing Utah bloggers that I have never met! I sat right across the table from the famous Melea from freebies2deals.com! She’s super nice and was fun to talk to!
Anyway, back to the Lambs Grill. Have you ever heard of this place? It been around since 1919! That’s 93 years!!
Say What?
Yup, that long! A man by the name of George P. Lamb, a Greek immigrant, opened Lamb’s Grill Cafe on February 22, 1919 in Logan, Utah. Lamb’s thrived in Logan until 1939 when Mr. Lamb was encouraged to move his restaurant to the business district in downtown Salt Lake City. Since that time, The Herald Building at 169 South Main Street, has been the home of Lamb’s Grill Cafe. The restaurant has remained essentially unchanged since 1939. Read more about the history of Lamb’s grill here.
Lamb’s has long been the “place to eat” when in downtown Salt Lake City. I’ve lived about an hour away from this adorable restaurant and hadn’t heard of it (I never went to Salt Lake), but when I mentioned it to my parents they both knew exactly what I was talking about! The atmosphere is very nice. You can tell it is older, but it is clean and sets a great mood for a date night out, dinner party or just a place to meet up with friends. It gives you the feeling as if you just stepped into a fancy restaurant in the mid 1900’s. Service is provided at the long, black, marble counter or at booths and tables with white linens. The service was very friendly and the food…let’s talk about the food! You can tell by not just the atmosphere of the restaurant but by the food that Lamb’s strives to maintain their high standards. We had a set menu, but their prices are pretty reasonable.
Check out what we got to eat…
The Bacon Wrapped Date Blue Cheese Almonds were amazing, as weird as they sounded. I chose the Salmon for my entree, and I am being 100% honest in this statement…It was the best Salmon I have ever had. It wasn’t fishy tasting at all. I told my husband it tasted like fish chicken. It was SO moist and delicious! I did debate over having the beef bourguignon, only because I recently watched Julia to Julia and I wanted to try it! Everyone I talked to really liked their meal. I only had my camera for picture, and the food still looks good! It looked even better in person!
Now onto the great deal! Now that I’ve talked to you into going to see this place for yourself and eating their delicious food, here’s how you get 20% off your entire bill. If you are in the area and want to eat here, before you go in tweet, instagram or Facebook a messing about Lamb’s Grill using #lambsgrill20 and tell them you heard about them from me and you will get 20% off your entire bill! The deal expires March 20th, so go now!
Happy Eating!
