I love this time of year. All the fun get togethers, holiday crafts and yummy food! I am not a huge fan of Halloween, but I like a lot that comes with it. I love pumpkins, caramel apples, popcorn, dressing in fun costumes, eating candy, going to the farm to pick pumpkins, going through the corn maze, and basically just fall! Growing up my mom would make fun crafts with us on Fridays for Fun Friday for homeschool. I usually make fun Halloween treats, but with me being on this eating plan, I am being a boring mom and not making any Halloween treats. Its just to hard. Don’t worry though, I will let them eat their candy, and come Christmas I will be making yummy treats!! Here is one of my favorite Halloween crafts. It’s so simple, easy and fun!
-
Starch
-
Package of Cheese cloth {found in the fabric sections of any store}
-
A quart jar or glass cup
-
A balloon
-
Scissors
-
Pipe Cleaner or Sticks
-
Pour starch in a bowl {or the bucket you take from the hospital after you have a baby 🙂 }
-
Cut cloth into about 16 inch strips {or however long you want}
-
Take a piece of Cheese Cloth and dip it in starch.
-
Ring it out really good and drape it over the balloon
-
Repeat 3 -5 times (Make sure you have a good strong base because that is how it will stand up.)
-
And even if it’s messy, LET THE KIDS HELP!!
-
Let dry for 24 hours
-
The next day Pop the balloons.
-
Take out of the cup or jar.
- Decorate! We just used felt and ribbon and hung them from the ceiling. My kids think they are pretty spooky!!
