Motherhood – It’s what God gave me time for – Baby #5

April 10, 2013 by The Things I Love Most

I think he dreaming about chocolate, or Heaven!
Can you see that smile? It has to be one of the two!

My baby is now 3 weeks old.  Can you even believe that?  Crazy huh?  I was talking to my hubby the other day about how long the days seem with a newborn but how fast the weeks go.  As most of you know I don’t like it.  I want time to slow down, I hate how fast my sweet kids are growing up, yet I love to see the little people they are becoming.  This sweet baby is so good.  Pretty textbook child.

He eats, stays awake for a little bit and then falls asleep in my arms.  I love to hold him, which is funny because with my other children I loved holding them, but was pretty strict about them being in their beds when they sleep.  With him I don’t mind holding him as much as possible!!  Probably because he is most likely (99.9%) our last child, I just want to hold him as much as I can.  He is kind of sick right now, darn it.  All my kids have had mega allergies and he was the last to get the cough that has been going around.  I am praying he stays healthy, but his sleeping has gotten worse because of it…poor baby.

Having a new baby hasn’t been easy though.  Before he came I could go workout when I wanted to at nights,  I could go on a girls night without having to look at the clock, I could eat what ever I wanted and not worry that my baby was going to be fussy because I ate it, and I could sleep through the night.  Now I am super tired, and at times I just wish I could get out of the house and do what I want to do.  I know this time won’t last long, and the thought of that makes me sad.  Motherhood is what I signed up for, and I love every part of it, as hard or as tiring as it is.  I feel so blessed to be a mom.

One of my favorite quotes ever from this talk!

What a very sweet little one; I loved the pictures. Yes, enjoy the moments cuddling with him. Children do grow up fast so do enjoy your time with them all.
The quote was an awesome one.
Blessings to you all and hugs too.

Congrats on your new baby! The time gets faster with each new baby!

And congrats on knowing that this is your calling from the beginning. It honestly took me a while to find the true joy and love of being a mother and being a stay-at-home mom too.

Guess that’s a bit of what happens when you have twins straight from graduating college!
