Flim Flam and Other Such Gobbledygook {Book Review}

September 3, 2015 by The Things I Love Most

Hi everyone, I’m here today to tell you about another adorable book!  Melica Hudgens, Jay Fontano, and Cedar Fort Publishing & Media just released this adorable book called Flim Flam and Other Such Gobbledygook!  This story is adorable and filled with beautiful illustrations.  Flim Flam blog tour

About the book:

This cute children’s book is about a bunch of farm animals that need to learn to get along. After a big clean up of the farm, the rooster and the hen want to have a party and invite everyone on the farm, the only problem is no one on the farm likes each other because everyone is so different, some our loud, some are messy, and some have funny hair.  Edwin Rooster decides enough is enough and gathers everyone around to talk to them about how it doesn’t matter what is wrong with everyone else.  He tells them differences don’t matter and that they can be friends with everyone, even if they don’t all look the same. My favorite line from the book is….

“So if you hear film flam or gobbledygook, get rid of it quickly by hook or by crook!  Don’t let it botch friendships or ruin your day. Shoo it out! Hurry! It must go away!!”

This adorable rhyming children’s book contains fun words to read and has colorful illustrations. It’s a perfect bedtime book to enjoy again and again! My kids loved all the words they use such as “fiddle-de-de” and “gobbledygook”.  I like that in the back of the book it has a glossary and tells what each fun word in the book means!

About the author:

If she’s not sitting at the computer writing, Melica Hudgens can usually be found out in the garden pulling weeds or finding a place to plant something new. Melica also enjoys riding bicycles with her husband, taking walks, and enjoying the gifts of nature with her grandchildren.

About the illustrator:

Jay Fontano is a drawer. Not the kind in your dresser. The kind who draws. And that’s the fun kind.
