I remember being a little girl and my mom telling me we were going, on a school day, to watch the circus come into town and watch them put the big tent up! I don’t even think we went to the circus that year, but we were able to see the big elephants help put the tent up that day! I was really little, but I do remember how cool it was. All kids should go to a circus at least once in their life! I have only been to one circus in my life and that was about 11 years ago when the Jordan World Circus came into town. My kids were tiny, but I remember it was really cool so when we had the opportunity to go again we asked our friends if they wanted to come with us. The show was last night and although it ended really late it was a great circus!
Jordan World Circus
The circus is kind of an interesting place. My seven year old enjoyed the show, but said it wasn’t what he expected. He imagined it like the movies where there is a strong man, a man that eats fire, dogs doing tricks and just a whole lot bigger. The Jordan World Circus wasn’t all that but it was still really cool. They had some great animal shows and a lot of acrobatics. The first half of the show was great. Although crazy death defying acts terrify me, my kids thought they were pretty cool. Their favorites were when Luigi walked around on this thing that spins, like an hamster wheel, but also go way up in the air. (Crazy, but very cool) They also loved the Spiderman acrobat, the tigers and the 2 guys on the motorcycles that drove in a big round cage around each other. CRAZY!The second half was all mostly aerialist and acrobats, and then they ended the show with the elephants. They had group of boy and girl acrobats/aerialists. The only part I didn’t really like about the show was the girls dancing to Mambo #5. Lame song choice, and their costumes made them look like spider birds, but other that that the talent was amazing! The boys did and amazing flip show where the older boys were on the ground with their legs in the air and the younger boys would sit on the older boys feet and stand on their hands and they did all sorts of crazy tricks. The kids also thought this pot balancing guy was pretty amazing! The show was great. There were a lot of annoying sales guys selling overly priced toys and treats that my younger kids whined about me buying, and the intermission felt really long, but I guess they have to have the time for all the nice parents who like to spend lots of money to let their kids ride on the elephant or the camel to have to time ride! I’m not that nice of a mom! 🙂 Other than that the kids loved it and we adults thought it was a pretty cool show! I would for sure recommend taking your kids to a circus at least once in their life!
