Keep Cool with the NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan {Review}

May 15, 2015 by The Things I Love Most

It’s that season again!  April and May brought some great weather with temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s and we had some great rain storms. Probably not enough rain.  Utah for sure needs more, so I guess even though I don’t love rain, I will pray for it more!  Summer is coming to Southern Utah and it is going to get HOT!  Like REALLY REALLY hot.  Thankfully it doesn’t get humid along with it getting hot.  Last summer was pretty mild…for Southern Utah.  I don’t think it got over 110ºF. This NewAir AF-520B Outdoor Misting Fan, my ceiling fans and a whole lot popsicles are going to get us though the hot summer!

NewAir AF-520B 18-Inch Ultra Quiet Outdoor Misting Fan

Speaking of fans, today I’m excited have to tell you about my new favorite fan! From NewAir appliances this awesome fan has served me as I exercise on my treadmill everyday…Ok almost every day! For some reason my ceiling fan just doesn’t do it for me. I have to have cold air blowing in my face while I run! But not only is this a regular fan, it’s main purpose is an outdoor misting fan.  Perfect for outdoor summer barbecues, swim parties, or just lounging on my new deck! My kids love the misting feature and get excited about hooking it up to the hose and running in front of it! It’s almost as exciting as turning on the sprinklers! The fan has 3 settings. The lowest setting is actually pretty high considering that it blows perfectly on me as I exercise.

My kids were super excited when they saw the fan.  My husband and son put it together in about 10 minutes! This misting fan is very sturdy and durable. The base of the fan is awesome. I know some other fans we have owned were very wobbly and would come tubling down by barely knocking it. This would take effort to knock over.  Not only is the fan sturdy and durable, but it is also stylish.  It kind of makes me feel like I’m at a resort on my own patio.NewAir AF-520B 18-Inch Ultra Quiet Outdoor Misting FanThis fan is going to be used all summer long. We love being out in our backyard. We don’t have a pool, but do have a little kid pool and the kids love having water days. This will be perfect for me as I sit and relax on my deck while the kids are playing!

It has 3 speeds which is perfect for if you have company and need it to mist more.  It can mists up to 500 sq. ft. It hooks right up to a garden hose and is very easy to use. It also has a nozzle to turn it off without turning the hose off.  Although you would want to make sure you turned the hose off, and unplugged it before you go inside.  It oscillates very well and can tilt up or down, and you can adjust the height!b4c17c2b-56eb-48b7-a6cd-01f30ae49247_400

As you can see my boys were extra excited about me testing this out outside! We have actually been using it as an inside fan for the last couple of weeks since it hasn’t been very hot. So if  you don’t need a misting fan, but you need a great fan inside your house this works both ways. So it’s like a 2-in-1 fan!

I plan on using this sound all summer long indoor and outdoor, and would totally recommend it.  This Misting Fan  retails for $129.95 and up. It’s currently available at Home Depot and Amazon.com.

    Oh my gosh. I might not be able to get through the next 2 terrible last months of pregnancy without one of these. If fact, I wouldn’t mind if one just followed me around all day long! I am so hot already, it doesn’t bode well for a summer delivery! EEK!

    Cute post!

    That looks great. I’ll bet my dog would appreciate this! We have a St Bernard and he gets so hot in the summer with that heavy coat. He lays in front of the sprinklers when they are on, but the fan part would keep him nice and cool.

    This is so perfect! These fans are great because sometimes in the summer we like to save on air conditioning. This would be great for keeping us cool during the night!

    This is perfect! I’m going to get one for myself to use by our kiddie pool while I read and watch my girls.
