Let’s Make Every Day the Best Day Ever

June 3, 2014 by The Things I Love Most

I received this Best. Day. Ever. shirt as part of a contest for a company called Elevate Promo. The goal of this contest is to take pictures while wearing the shirt and doing something that shows my readers what this phrase means to me!

Before I received the shirt I kept thinking about what in the world I would take a picture of myself doing.  I was trying to think of what kinds of things were coming up in my life that I could take a picture of!  Something super exciting!  But I am a busy mother of 5, and don’t have big plans this month.  I wasn’t going on any amazing trips, or adventures.  I kept thinking about how the Best Day Ever had to be me doing something really cool.

If I could go back in time I would have worn this shirt on my wedding day, on the day each of my children were born, or the day my husband took me on my first cruise!  But those days are past and gone.  So does that me there are no more Best Days Ever in my future until I go on a big trip or win the lottery? Then it hit me, every day of my life can be the Best. Day. Ever.  Each day is what we make of it.   Any day that I can keep moving forward, be happy and surround myself with those that I love is the Best. Day. Ever.  Sure each day has it’s challenges, but it’s all in our attitude.

Honestly wearing this shirt has helped me have a better attitude about life.  It has made me really think about the way I think.  The days that I wore this shirt really turned out to be good days.  Yes my two year old still had tantrums, and my house got messy, and I didn’t get dinner ready until 8pm, but my attitude was different.  I felt happy.  I dealt with things differently than I normally would have.   It’s been amazing to me the difference these words have made in my life!  They were in my head all day long.  I now need seven of these shirts so that I can wear them each day of the week to remind me that today CAN be the Best. Day. Ever. It’s all about perspective and the way I look at each day.  I can get grumpy, upset or frustrated, or I can just push forward and make the situation better.

I decided to take some pictures of me having my Best. Days. Ever. to show what the Best. Day. Ever. means to me.

The day we went and got snow cones at our favorite snow cone place and realized we were all wearing blue!
Nothing better than snow cones in Summer.
My sons birthday this last month and all the kids decided to wear Orange because it’s his favorite color, but I wore my Best. Day. Ever. shirt because I wanted it to be that for him!
Nothing better than trying to get your kids to hold still while you take a group birthday picture.
SAY CHEESE!
The day we swam outside all day!
This is us making the best out of not living by a pool anymore.
These kids are so excited about our 8’x8’x18″pool!
The day when my 1 year old fell asleep in my arms!
There is nothing better than getting a break in the day to rock your sweet little one to sleep!
And the day we went to the dentist and my three year old cried the whole time the dentist was trying to check his teeth, but we come out happy and especially grateful that none of them had cavities!
And the day I got to actually DO my hair while the baby played for an hour with my drawers in the bathroom, and didn’t fuss one bit!
And the day I got to go out on a date with my husband and eat yummy food and go shopping!
I didn’t wear the shirt that day, but it definitely qualifies for Best. Day. Ever. material
{He won’t ever make a normal face in a selfie}
And last but not least the day when my two year old begged to help make bread, but kept dropping flour on the floor. Instead of getting frustrated with him, I decided to start a flour fight, and he couldn’t stop giggling!
Those are the best days ever!
The days we get to spend with the ones we love
So who wants one of these shirts?
You do, I promise!

I do not enter a lot of these but I did love this post and the shirts the whole idea. And by the way the tweet message that automatically put up was too long, I had to shorten it.

Cute shirt! I really like the color. If I had to print something on a shirt, it would say “I (heart) my kids!

    Kendra-
Awesome post and t-shirt. You’re family is adorable. We say that saying “Best Day EVER!” a lot at our house so this shirt would be perfect. If I printed something on a shirt, it would say “BE AWESOME”!

I would print these words. It’s never a bad thing to have a reminder to be positive.
