Are you happy? Do you have to say to yourself to just be happy? Would you consider yourself a happy person right now? Lately our life has had a bit of change with my husbands recent, but wonderful, job change and both of us have felt way more happy! I think for the most part I am a happy person, but I do have moments or days where I am a grump and I just don’t feel happy. In-fact today I went with my family to Walmart which isn’t the happiest place on earth, espeically if you have to take your five children. My husband wasn’t understanding something I was trying to talk to him about and I felt frustrated with him and walked off to shop alone! I was so grateful that I had been listening to this awesome book “Be Happy” by Hank Smith that reminded me to realize when I am bugged and loose patience and to write it down. I didn’t write it down, but I changed my attitude really quickly and went and worked out our misunderstanding with my husband and laughed about it!
Be Happy: Simple Secrets to a Happier Life by Hank Smith
My Review:
I have been listening to this book in the car for the last week and LOVE it! My kids did also, even though they would say, “No we don’t want to listen to someone talk”, but once they realized that it was a book written by Hank Smith, and he is funny, and shares great stories, they forgot why they were complaining and we listened to it all around town! The book has some great stories, funny and very touching. He also shares wonderful reminders and simple ideas to stay happy! He shares such information about how to train yourself to be a more happy person. He shared ideas on how to find joy in our everday lives by using great strategies such as being more optimistic, thinking positively, understanding depression and how to deal with it, and 10 awesome tips to help us be happy daily!
I love that this book touches on depression and how to deal with real depression. I know it’s something that I don’t totally understand, but I know people who truely suffer from depression and need the love and support from those around them as they figure out how to deal with their feelings.
This book makes me want to work on being more happy and be an example to those around me, especially my children and husband. We could all use more happiness in our life, not the fake, “I’m Happy Happy Happy” type of happiness, but true genuine, even though life is hard, I can be happy no matter the circumstances happiness! I would recommend this book for families. I let my awesome friend borrow it and know she will love it! There are so many great quotes that you could put all over your house to help you to remember to be happy!
