Date night is one of the most important days of the week for me. I didn’t used to be, but now I know it is crucial for a good a marriage. For the last 15 years my husband and I have been off and on about having date nights. We were good when we first got married and up until having kids, but then for 10 years we really didn’t have any date nights. We would say we would have a date night in , but we wouldn’t really plan anything. We would watch a movie after the kids went to bed, or even get takeout, but that was about it. Now we have a date night EVERY WEEK and it has blessed our marriage SO much! While most of our date nights are out of the house. Sometimes staying home is nice especially if you have good food! I was excited to get to try Chef’d this last week and recreate a date night we had a long time ago! When my husband and I were dating 15 years ago I surprised him with a special candlelight dinner at my mom’s house. I blindfolded him and drove him around and then we showed up at my moms where we had a sweet dinner. I decided to recreate this date the other night. My two oldest kids got dressed up and were our waiter and waitress, and we had an excellent time eating our Chef’d meal.

So let me tell you how much I LOVE Chef’d! Chef’d is the first online meal kit marketplace with hundreds of recipes from breakfast, lunches, dinner and desserts from celebrated chefs and great brands. It was so excititng to get these awesome boxes full of fresh food! I ordered Chicken Soulvaki, a Triple Gingerbread Cake and a Acai Berry Bowl I made for breakfast the next morning. The food looked amazing from the moment it arrived at my door and even after I cooked it! I had fun preparing it with my daughter. Having the ingredients pre-portioned out was so nice! I wish my kitchen was like that all the time! 🙂 My husband was so surprised and loved the evening! My silly son even serenaded us with a funny song about us!The Chicken and Gingerbread cake were amazing. I love greek food and the Soulvaki was excellent! I haven’t ever used candied ginger and it made this cake so yummy. We ate it with our kids after the dinner and even the kids loved it!

The next morning I suprised my husband with breakfast in bed with the Acai Berry Bowl. We haven’t ever had one of these and it was surprisingly delicious!
